So... you're asking for an auto-target? How hard is it to press the "X" button or "Tab" through targets?

Bind the command target under reticle to a convinent key.

bind fire to a convinent button and put a rock on it.

Edit: Realy try my above suggestion... it makes a world of diffrence.

There it is, I use my pov hat on the joystick, as i don't look around when i am flying, thats what the radar is for.

Ooohh..this is such a good idea. Auto follow on a target after you lock it. Real cool. Awsome. Leet! Uber p0wnage!

It'll make it so much easier for me to vape the people who make use this ability.
