ok, finally after much waiting, we are told the Y8 mining quest is fixed. So I go and get the mission where I left off. The mission is to meet up with the Y8 convoy and escort them. So I launch into space and the first thing I noticed is I cannot see the waypoint. I have my onscreen waypoint monitor so I follow the arrow and manage to get to the convoy. It spawns but I can't see the ships, only the square brackets. Then the enemy attack ships spawn and I can only see their brackets and my aiming recticle. I attempt to shoot anyway and I can't see my weapon graphics.

I decided to try a few things. After grabbing a new mission I launch into space and again, no visible waypoint in space but I could follow my onscreen waypoint monitor. I get to the Y8 convoy and again only the square brackets were visible. I decided to HS jump to another sector and whoa and behold, I can see the waypoint in space. I travel to it but the convoy was still invisible. Tried the HS jump again but when I reached the cloaked convoy my mission wouldn't update so I aborted.

Grabbed a new mission and this time headed straight to convoy. Mission updated and enemy ships spawned, again invisible. I decided to shoot at them and with some difficulty as I couldn't see my weapon graphics, I was able destroy the enemy ships and noticed as soon as they were destroyed, I could see the ship fragments. I continued wave after wave and then suddenly to my suprise, the enemy ships became visible as well as the convoy. Mission was successful.

At this point I was able to continue to the next misson and all spawns were indeed visible although the waypoint in space was not. It seems the devs introduced some problem, perhaps causing excessive lag, but I am sure we will never hear from them what the cause of the problem is( typical of incompetent developers).

I should point out that I did see the engine glow, but nothing else.

ok, just to make sure it wasn't me that is the dumbass, I asked a friend who also was stuck at the Y8 escort mission to try. When she arrived at the Kashyyyk station she complained she couldn't even see the station. After jumping back into the sector it was finally visible. She grabbed the quest and I noticed that I couldn't even see her ship. Then she, using the onscreen waypoint monitor because the waypoint was not visible either, managed to get to the spawn point. She could not see the ships either

I think SOE borked up space with this publish.

When I launced up there to go from where I left off yesterday, I didn't even GET a WP to the convoy.

Everything is invisible for me. All I have is a flying R2 unit drawn.

this happened to me earlier on my Y-8. both me and my mate were on the ship and the entire thing vanished. causing lots of fun getting back to the controls. i tried hyperspacing to talus where upon arrival i find that the entire space station had disappeared. all that appeared to remain was the skin of our faces. bad enough i got grey windows on my Y-8 but my ship is disappearing now as well

i couldnt see wp either but found the wp in the poi's and autopiloted to it. it was confusing as there are freighters everywhere, but eventually got it right and completed mission and got y-8. only trouble is ....... i cant get it to work properly, see my thread, y-8 probs

I just had the same problem Everything went invisible when I went to Dathomir. Including my ship. I could only see the engine glow. I was in several zones mining and was not attempting the Y-8 quest. I have done it already. I couldnt see the asteroids to mine them. I then Hypered to Kashyyk and all was invisible there Until I got about 1200m from the Kash Space station. Then everything popped back into view.
