This makes no sense, I am a civilian I am completely neutral, my trainer says I need to choose a side to help for this last mission. I figure no biggy, and go to the rebel admiral. He will not give me a mission. So I need to go rebel to completel a NEUTRAL mission?

No, you just have to help a faction. You don't have to join anything.
Smuggler's Alliance - aid's the rebels
Corsec - gets to pick their vette
RSF - aid's the Imperials

That I couldn't tell you. Are you sure your last trainer sent you there? No other space missions, including missions for Kashyyyk? Right Admiral?

Check and see if you have negative Rebel faction points. That could be it.

The guy in mining outpost for the corsec missions sent me to the admiral in doaba (sp) and he won't talk do me and is very rude as if i'm an imperial. I have 0 imperial faction, and 0 rebel faction.
I'll just have someone sell me 200 rebel faction I guess.

Not likely, I took the Corvette mission from the Imp admiral and had over -1000 Imp faction. It was helpful clearing away some of the amount I'd have to grind to go Imp for the squadrons.

I took the Imperial mission (Im CorSec) with -4000 Imperial FP so the FP part of the deal doesn't mater as long as your CorSec.
