Afraid you could be disappointed though. The Y-8 is like all the other MP ships. Looks great (perhaps one of the best things of JTL), but because of bad design by the dev's, its completely useless.

I don't know about completly... the interior is one of the coolest ever... so it has use as a floating house....

Yeah, but you can't move items up and down in it, so decorating isn't possible.

The Y-8 is a superminer. The Y-8 pulls in rocks with a much greater yield per hit than a regular ship with mark III's and the Y-8 has a much greater hit range.The large y-8 cargo hold with34k capasity is enough space that you'll never need to land to empty. Tier 4 asteroid bandits don't hurt the 19+ recharge POB shields so you don't even need to fend them off. The Y-8lets you concentrate solely on collecting space rocks without all the other interruptions. I am not disappointed when mining in the Y-8.

its absolutely useless (especially the turrets)
and u'd hope u could "super mine" with someone operating the tractor beam.... nope u can just try and use the pilot mining laser (wich sucks for aiming at rocks flying towards u)
much better off with a fighter plane that has 3 weapon slots and equip 2 tier 2 mining lasers and a highpowered gun...
you'll have to land a lot but u won't get blown by pirates and you'll be able to shoot at things reasonably...
Many who do not properly equip their Y-8 feel this way.
There is a way toequip the "correct"tractor beam and it works perfectly without anyone manning it. I personally don't use a tractor at all, rocks that get away simply are not worth my time. I never move, I stay 400 to 600m from the asteroid at all times. Why in the world do you want to chase the rocks when the asteroid will simply respawn.
There is not a pirate in space that can take out my Y-8 solo. If you are a really savy player you'll put a sweet "mass does not matter" re10 weapon in it and 1 hit the pirates. Only reason you'd want to do that is if they actually were hurting your shields
