I just finished Phoenix Sqadron missions 3-3-3-3. Yesterday I loged on 2-2-2-2 took the whole evening to do the first Phoenix sqadron mission damn that mission was HARD talk about an endurance test! In then end I had to use hyper(to another point in the system)to escape TIE Sqadrons cos they just kept coming, there seemed to be no end of them. Then after I finally did it I was so damn tired from it I leveled 2-2-3-2 by mistake
Today I loged in and the missions were not as hard however to my surprise it seems all enemey ships now move twice as fast. Where I was about equal speed to the Tier 3TIEs before in my Y-Wing with a 62.0 speed engine (52.0 in a Y-Wing) I was now a useless slug nex to them they were running circles around me and I could never keep up with them even with boosters on and there were 5-7 attacking me at a time, not a very nice experiance. However I managed to get to 3-3-3-2 at this point I had looted a 79.0 speed engine and went and bought an X-Wing. Took a while to get used to the diffrent aiming the X-Wing has but I got the hang of it after a while.
Then I took on the last tier 3 mission and the first thing I am throne up against? A Tier 4 TIE Advance with about 7 TIE Fighter/Interceptor escorts and I was back to having circles run around me luckly this time it was only the TIE Advance doing it. I failed this mission the first time because I had to hyper away and when I got back the where he should be he disappeared
So I went and took the mission again and killed him. I carried on with the mission only to have to keep hypering to other points in the system as Tier 4TIE totaly unrelated to my mission kept decideding to join in with my Tier 3 mission TIEs to attack me however I managed to complete the last Tier 3 mission.
Through all of Tier 3 I only died once and that was on the1st Tier 3 mission 1st attempt my2nd attempt at the mission was a sucess. I am just glad I completed the first Tier 3 mission when I did as now I fear it will be impossible to Solo. I feel sorry for the guys who will have to put up with that mission now all enemy fighters go twice as fast.
I think with this new speed patch I will either a) Have to ask for help on the Tier 4 missions orb) Find a 100 speed Engine to put in my X-Wing.

100 speed engines don't help. i have a 92.2 and i don't come close to catching them. the tier 4's seem to joust me... making it easier to hit them, but very boring.
congratz on the leveling though.

Exactly how it should be. Y-Wings are supposed to be slow and TIEs are supposed to be fast and attack in large numbers.

I was in my A-Wing inLok Last night with a 92.2 Engine and Generic Tier 3 Tie Fighters were outpacing me at full throttle. When I went to Kessell and took on Opressors they would be 300m out by the time I made a turn on them from a head-on pass. After lining up again they would accelerate further out, stop on a dime and turn around to start jousting again...
I'm all for increasing the capabilities of the NPC vessels but I think their speeds got tweaked a little too high.

Get engine overload 3 from an Imperial pilot. Trade him Shield codes for them. You'll catch them then.
You also need to find the sweet spot for manueverability - 100% is NOT the best setting to turn at. Try 95% down to 75% throttle (found by typing /throttle 0.xx (xx = .01 to .99), find a static point on the background, and move diagonally, measuring the amount of time it takes for that point to come around.
On the TIE Advanced, it's 85%. On the Interceptor, it SEEMS to be 100%, but I never tried otherwise. On the Oppressor, it's 75%.
I have NO clue what it is on Rebel ships, for obvious reasons.
