Since the coming of JTL I am seeing players on the ground with big full colour tags like "rebel recruit" or "imperial ace" and such (I do not remember the correct tags label, just to give the idea) and even people in full imperial or rebel flight outfit, all the while being Covert
Am I the only one to find it disrupting the game feeling ?
Being a pure PvE I can understand the need to allow people to fly factional ship while being Covert and thus not forced in PvP, but while on the groundI think that ground rules should apply and people should be Overt to wear factional Items.

No, you shouldn't be open to attack just because you want to wear some cool items that you EARNED. Being purely a PVE template, you can't tell me you want to compete with the PVP temploiters just to wear your cool threads.

Sorry, but I think you should see this a bit different.
First: no rebel spaceship would be allowed to land on open spaceports - but the game forces us to do (simply the mechanics).
As long as we don't have "factional" starports from which we can start and land it would be most disturbing to give pilots a "tag" or force them to be overt while flying in their pilot suit.
I know that the GCW has some big problems, still waiting to be solved.
Most concerns me: there is no StarWars-feeling in the ground-PVE at this time. People running around in fancy outfits, wearing strange names and using the game mechanics to their advancement is no "StarWars" at all.
So you should be more concerned about the behavior of some ground-PVE'ers than over the people enjoying JTL.
All I want is a bit more tolerance for each other. But as far as I follow the discussions in the SWG-forums the two sides have really a "civilwar" running.
Thanks.

I like everyone runing around wearing imp/reb flight suits. It really adds to the galactic war feel imho.

Ok then, if it is only me no problem.
Anyway having people running around side by side wearing imp/reb flightsuits do not add to the galactic civil war feeling, it is detrimental.
JMC : I never said I wanted people to be open to attack, but if you did the themeparks you would have EARNED some cool faction stuff that you can only wear if you are overt. Being overt or not it is your choice anyway.
Lilleth: I clearly stated that I understand and support the need of different rules on space and ground, so no people forced to be overt while flying (in factional suit or not), just on the ground. About tolerance, I yet said I am a pure PvE.... I just raised a point.

It's the nature of the beast, some realism, alot actually takes a backseat for balance fair access and consensual PvP. In City of Heroes there is no Phone Booth to change from Secret ID to super, there isnt even a built in secret ID, it's just a game reality vs. how it should be percieved Dont let it bother you EVERY MMO has some MMOism.

personally i think they made a good decision to leave out TEF's in space and i think it should apply to Ground aswell so there is Covert and Overt and that you can Wear Factional Items while Covert or Overt

I totally agree that is a good thing not having TEF in space, my issue is only with the wearing of factional uniforms ON THE GROUND. Not a big issue, I agree, but it is a little disturbing to see a imp pilot and a rebel one in factional flightsuit side by side waiting for the shuttle in Coronet.... aren't they supposed to be enemies ?
