I bought a Freedom 2.4 to replace my Microsoft Preicision Pro 2, and it KILLED my hand. Absolutely killed it... my hand started cracking and aching REALLY bad after about an hour of play of JTL, so I had to hook up the Precision Pro 2 again. It's a bit old and pretty loose, but at least it doesn't destroy bones in my hand!

I'm hestitant to buy a different joystick, though, because I'm afraid that new ones will do the same thing as the Logitech... I guess I'll just use my Precision Pro 2 until it literally falls apart. It's a shame MS stopped making them, I'd go buy another one!

call the manuf company of your new joystick, usualy they will refund your money if you are incredibly unsatisfied

I had the same problem! I also couldnt keep up with the enemy ships like I could with the mouse. I felt I had more control with the mouse.

I ended up taking the joystick back and I still just use the mouse.
