my main question is. what the hell is the point of trying ot make a good ship?
It's just like the ground game. the better weapon you have, in the higher skill trees, the more likely you are to own. I'm not looking for an uber ship. but i mean Mass around 500k and energy around 14k?
isnt that a little messed up?
i could have all the mass in the world, but when it comes ot energy, the only good loot, from space and man made has been 14k.
Tell me it gets better than this and makes sense eventually?
I dont want no fancy Yt-1300 or Firespray. I want to fly my Kirahxz and pimp it out. But it has a selected amount of mass to it when its made, whats the point ?
Eventually everyone will end up flying high class fighters then? w t f
Isnt there some way to just have a normal ship like my Kirhazx as a Master Pilot and pimp it out with higher level stuff?
I dont care about master ships, i love my fighter. d a m n it
SOMEONE SETTLE ME DOWN. lol

Not to diminish your flight skills, as I agree that skill plays the largest role in determining who wins, but was your opponent using a pre or post mass change Heavy Blacksun Fighter? The extra 70k or so mass that the post change fighter has really allows you to make the Heavy Blacksun a much more formidable fighter than it used to be.

Happy Thanksgiving!
And to also bump this post a bit. Lets stay on focus about how the mass is larger than the energy you can have, and so on with the rest of my messege please. thank you

I've got an Advanced and an Oppressor. I've soloed three Vettes (plus their escorts) in two days with the Advanced, L4 armor equipped, an L7 player-made shield, and an REed L7 blaster. I'm firmly convinced now that anyone who *needs* an Oppressor to attack the Vette is far too dependent on missiles. It's all a matter of knowing how to conserve booster power, rolling on the way in, and knowing EXACTLY where the shield and reactor "hotspots" are.
Note: knowing how to completely blind the Vette from the underside helps QUITE a bit, too.
I'm wondering why I spent the cash to buy and equip the Oppressor.
Minimalism is key. I've built my Advanced like a hot rod, and it damn sure performs like one. Until I can loot stuff (or until SWs can MAKE it) that makes my Oppressor HALF as good in a furball, it's sitting in an imaginary hangar indefinitely. I can turn inside T5 A-Wings with my current 72.5 YawMax REed L6, and at the optimal setting of 85% throttle, I nearly match their cruising speed of 1099kph at 1059kph with EO3.
Why use a steel toed boot when you can use a sneaker?

Yet another example of someone finding holes in the AI and thinking that translates to skill. Yes you are skilled at defeating the limited AI, how that translates to flying skills is beyond me. I couldn't find a clearer example of why beating the AI is no accomplishment then this. You are not some great pilot, the AI is just stone dumb. That's why it was so great when the removed the PvP element from mastering pilot, now everyone can read how to do it on the forums somewhere. This is the same for all the fools who think they are so uber beating the NS queen, it's not you being smart it's the AI being dumb. Don't hurt yourself patting yourself on the back.

The only ships with 500k mass are MP ships. The fighters are less than half that.
Also, if the best reactor you can find is 14k, go hit up a Master Shipwright. My MSW can make Mk5 reactors with 18k energy all day.
Also, there have been many looted reactors that are 30k energy and 28k mass. Keep looking.
Oh, on top of that, find any privateer to burn you a reactor overload 3 chip to use in your flight computer. It works wonders.
Bottom line is, there is a whole world of options to explore to outfit any ship you want. Just have to take the time to explore them.

I'm 7-1 in PvP, soon to increase that record (hopefully) because I just bought a base with my capped faction. The only person who has even taken me down was a guy who caught me going 300kph behind a gunboat on the last day Kessel was general PvP - everyone else that's been stupid enough to engage me (as I only engage if an overt comes within 2k of me) spawned with decay. I've soloed five Vettes in my "small" Advanced with only one blaster, and I've faced swarms of 10 missile-armed T5s all aggroed on me, and I've survived.
So don't hurt yourself typing those keys trying to make others feel meek and small, you troll. I don't think I'm uber, but I also *know* I'm a LOT damned better than most of the people out there. I've spent a lot of time customizing my ship to fit my flying style like a glove. If the AI can't keep up that's the development's fault, not mine.
Personally I bemoaned the "dumbing down" of JTL. I want Y-Wings with turrets on them because I'm tired of hearing Rebels moaning about how Imperials don't know what it's like to take down a ship like the Aggressor. I WANT it made harder. My tenure is in sims like LOMAC, Falcon 4.0 SP3, IL-2, and Flanker 2.5. Is JTL easy? You're damn skippy when you compare it to those.
If anything, the meager accomplishments in this game greatly outweigh the accomplishments in the ground game, as here macros, third party programs, and even weapons really mean nothing, just a quick hand, a good sense of virtual orientation, and a good eye for components really gives you an edge.

Oh, my mistake...I'm reasoning with someone who penned the following literary masterwork in a goodbye thread on his server:
MY turn to play psychoanalyst, flame boy. I would bet you're the type of player that takes an M and an O out of MMORPG. You're probably a JOY to the others in your guild, if the guild isn't only about 5-7 players strong.
Oh yeah, I'd also bet you're the type that becomes bitter and intransigent when others have figured out how to do something HE can't. Have a nice goddamned Thanksgiving.

Hilarity at it's finest, again like I said you are the master pilot since you found holes in the AI. Nothing you stated makes any change in that, you can out"think" the pathetic AI in this game and that makes you special. How is this any more impressive than using macros or such in the ground game ? Oh I'm a troll because I hurt your fragile ego regarding your meager accomplishments. Don't worry obviously some people will be impressed. Yup guild really hates me, how do your guildmates feel? Oh you can't even find 5-7 fools to be impressed by your big ego. Sorry I touched a nerve by dismissing your "great" accomplishments. If you didn't think they were so great you wouldn't have bothered to post them nor defend them. It's ok, people with no clue will be impressed. Why not post where you read how to do them? Oh I forgot that wouldn't fit your "ACE" pilot image. FLame away all you want, it won't change the fact that there is nothing to brag about beating the retarded NPCs in this game. Hey I'll give you credit you are smarter than the AI.
