Why don't we get faction point's for kill's in space. I am currently working on my tier 4 stuff, and flying outta Nym's. After all the tier 2 missions, and now kill'n black sun pirates for Nym, my faction toward Nym is still the same. YesterdayI was on a 'kill the blacksun fighters' duty mission, well some Imp.'s happen to spot me and joined in the fray, np I can handle 'em all but I am not getting faction...why????

YES YES YES YES YES.........THANKYOU FOR BRINGING THIS UP!!

I've been wondering about this myself...... you'd think after slaughtering trillions of nyms ships, and scientists in endor space that they would rememeber who I am and aggro me when I came back into their space...

We need the faction settings set up like they are on the ground, there needs to be some consequence to our actions....

I've said it a thousand times on these boards and noone ever listens to me. You DO get faction points for kills in space as long as you declare overt ata faction station. Not only do you get faction you get tons of it.

Nym and jabba faction for example is also something that should be getting affected by your space kills overt or not. If i kill hut fighters my hutt faction drops, i used to have 5000 and now im in the negative.

Sorry dreamie, I missed those post's. But still doing a 'duty mission' for Nym's boy's should give me + Nym faction and it's not.

Yes, yes and yes!

Factions attitude towards you should be changing depending on the type of mission you're doing, like on ground!

Consistency between systems is by no means simple, but it s definetly a goal that should be pursued...

It depends on what you are killing for Nym's boys. If it is corsair pirate ships you will likely get nym faction. If it is huts, valarians, blacksun or any of the other npcs that don't affect nym faction then you will not.

The type of faction you get is tied as always to the npc's you kill.

Where will I likely find Corsair pirates? I need to go overt and kill some to raise my Nym faction standing. Somehow it dropped to -80 and I'm taking tier 4 alliance missions from Nym's hotel.

So, this should be pushing more ppl to go overt in space then?

The reason that you don't get faction in space for covert flying is because there is not TEF system in space. On the ground you get the risk of PvP through TEF but the reward of faction points. Because there is no PvP risk for covert action in space you get no faction point reward.
You can get faction points in space if you go overt at your factional space stations. By going overt you are basically saying "I am willing to risk getting attacked by other players to get the reward of faction points". Basically you don't get somthing for nothing.
And for lower tier Rebel pilots Lok is the place to go. After doing the space staion quest you can take duty missions from the station against Imperial targets. All you need to do is fly to the Alliance station first then /comm with it to declare then go to the Lok Station to take the duty missions. Then watch the faction roll in. And you get paid for it in creds and loot.
What did you think those factional stations were for anyway?

i hear of people making 2k fp/hour in kessel while overt but after doing it in my tie-opp for days and days i believe it is much more, to gain a simple 5000 faction rank doesnt take much more than an hour and a half and if you are a colonel or whatever the top is you can sell all your faction points for tons of money as soon as you get back to the ground, this is the most efficient way ive seen to make money next to sticking down a harvester on an uber rare spawn or taking money missions on high lvl creatures that harvest some very nice materials that you can sell later. however if you do solo janta/mokk missions on dant you can make anywhere from 1-2 force power crystals an hour and people are still stupid enough to spend tons of credits on those as well.
