Well if you have SWG and loaded in the expansion then it ties in with your exsisting character. Once you log in you get a choice for what faction you want to join (Imp, Neutral, Rebel) Then it asks for what planet you want to start your Pilot training. Once you load in you might have a helper droid beside you which helps you with certain things in the game.

Just loaded JTL and no matter what profession I try to create I show up on the planet as a Pilot wanna be along with the Pilot droid. Is this normal or am i doing something wrong. Do I have to have an existing character before I load JTL ?

Hmm... I'm having a hard time understanding what you're saying. But I'll do my best...
You don't have to have an existing character to play JtL. When you create a new character and get to the screen to select a planet, it will bring up a screen asking you which faction you wish to join-- either Rebel, Imperial or neutral. After you click on one of the faction icons, you can then select one of three planets for which to load into (that location will also be close to the first pilot trainer on that planet for the faction you picked). There will be a waypoint arrow to the trainer and you can get Novice (faction) Pilot.
You don't get a helper droid with the pilot profession, only for other professions (Medic, Marksmen, Entertainer, Artisan and Brawler). You will have selected a profession (not pilot) when you first created your character.

If you have an already-existing character, the first time you log in what that character you will get the same screen asking which pilot faction you want to join and at which planet.
Note: If you do chose to be a freelancer/nuetral pilot, I strongly suggest reading the bit of information about them on the screen. RSF is Imperial, Corsec is Rebel and Smugglers Alliance is pure nuetral. RSF can't attack Imperials, Corsec can't attack Rebels, Smugglers Alliance can't attack Hutts.
