Thread: Easy Freelance Tier 4 XP grind strategy

Ok, I'm by no means an expert at figuring out the grind or at writing tutorials, but since this tactic seems to get decent results, I'm in the mood to share.

Let me begin by saying that I am a 3-3-3-3 freelancer, this method was handled in an Ixiyen, with moderate lvl 5-7 components, all looted. Shields were 1200 f/r, weapons 1000-1400 and 1400-2300, with a 860 capacitor with 36.0 refresh.

The amount of risk involved is minor, the XP gain pace medium. You can easily earn 100k+ in less than 1 hour.

Go to the Dantooine mining outpost and speak with the CorSec trainer in the cantina's tiny middle room. Take the Hidden Daggers mission (Dathomir). This is your run of the mill 'kill all the enemy fighters at each WP' mission.

The first 4 WPs will spawn the following enemies in this order
All ships are tier 4 so you'll get roughly 2900-3900 per kill

1st wave = 1 Rihkxrk(sp) craft
2nd wave = 1 Rihkxrk, 1 A-Wing
3rd wave = 1 Rihkxrk, 1 Firespray, 1 A-Wing

The tactics here are simple, and taking your time doesn't hamper progress at all, in fact, it's a key element!

First wave, kill the single ship.

(I like to disable, then take my time so that I have a full capacitor charged and ready for the spawn of the next wave, do this with every final ship of each wave and starting in on the next is much easier)

Second wave, kill the Rihkxrk first, then the A-wing.

I found that I wasted too much time trying to outfly AND outgun the A-wing, they're just too dang fast and maneuverable, so I devised the following tactic. DON'T FLY AROUND, STAY IN ONE SPOT. Seriously. If you just sit there and maneuver around to follow the A, goosing your throttle on and off rapidly to aid your turnaround, you'll let the A-wing's natural flight pattern work to your advantage. It'll fly past you out just beyond weapons range, then straight back at you. Just line yourself up with him as he approaches, and unload your guns right at his nose! He'll take a few potshots at you and do minimal shield damage while you disable him easily in 3-4 passes. Remember to take your time finishing him off so your cap is full when the 3rd wave spawns on you.

Third wave, kill the Rihkxrk and Firespray, saving the A-wing for last (notice a pattern?)

Follow that same pattern for 4 WPs and you'll get the ominous sounding 'An advanced craft has been deployed against you' or whatever... go to That WP to fight a single tier 4 Dunelizard, some threat, huh?

Once you start into WP 5, the ships change a little, but not enough to have any effect if you follow the pattern

WP5
wave 1 = 1 Rhkxyrk, 1 A-wing
wave 2 = 1 Rhkxyrk, 1 firespray, 1 A-wing
wave 3 = 1 Rhkxyrk, 1 firespray, 1 X-wing, 1 A-wing

The pattern is the same as before except when you get to the 3rd wave, take out the X-wing before the A-wing, you should be evenly matched, and the X is only a tiny bit tougher than the slower ships.

I ran this pattern twice, last night and tonight as a final test. I average just over 20k per WP (didn't bother to count the single dunelizard), with each WP taking about 10 minutes. I only went as far as WP 5 because I passed the 100k mark in under 60 minutes and this was enough to give me the numbers I needed for the tutorial. Feel free to fly the mission as long as you like, or do 5 wp's then fly back to Dantooine to start from stratch.

In the 2 hours I ran the method, I recieved one hit to my rear armor and that's all. Low risk of being damaged or destroyed means less time spent repairing and more time spent grinding.

I hope this helps some of you out there who don't nexessarily have the top line components to handle a more agressive grind. There are faster methods out there, I'm sure, but this gets medium level results with minor risk.

There's annother easy way.

You go to Endor, First Jump-In (Black Sim Chimaera).

When you now click "Tab" you either get a BlackSun or A DeathWatch Tier4 vessel targeted, If it´s a BlackSun TAKE IT OUT There will be 3 spawning every 3 minutes. If it´s a DeathWatch TAKE IT OUT There will be like 10 of them. once they are down fly to Waypoint: 1519 -502 -2979 and kill kimogilas (tier3) until the BlackSuns or DeathWatch respawn

The Kimo waypoint is usually swarming with players, so you can also grindlvl tier 1-3 there.

Also the duty missions from the endor space station give out very good xp as well and he majority are in the 3k range per ship up to 6k for the pirate leader ships at the end of each stage. This soon racks up the xp doing this.

I personally favour the RSF Tier 4 destroy which is a hunt against Black Sun. Similar destroy mission to Corsec but in completing the whole mission (which takes me 60-90 minutes) you destroy 70 tier 4 ships (Khiraxz light fighters and Rihxyrk bombers) and 15 tier 5 ships (all Khiraxz). This nets you about 350k xp, a wadge of creds and some loot. You'll need to do it 10 times (assuming you've half filled your first box with xp from Tier 3)

Remember also that Kessel is an easy place for Freelance pilots. Nothing aggros you until you shoot at it and B-Wings and Y-Wings are easy pickings. Tier 5 B-Wings give 8k xp for each kill. Just make sure you check your fire and keep only one ship aggro at any time. If you fire randomly and hit a couple of Tie Aggressors, you better be sure of your skills or their turrets will toast you before you can go "Aw Cra.!"

There's also a spawn of Evil Raider Tyrants in Endor fairly near the BS spawn. They're all Tier 3 Kimogilas but can swarm you so it only takes 15-20 minutes to get 100kxp which is slightly faster rate than the tier 3 missions.

These missions can also drop you a Black Sun Ace Helmet.

Getting one is my next goal now that I made master on my alt last night.
