I don't have the luxory of having many friends in game and what friends I do have either don't have JTL or don't really like going up into space. I try hard to do my missions solo, but the tier 2 missions seem to get the best of me every time. I have a decent ship as well as components. My capacitor is over 1000, my shields are over 400 I believe, my armor over 200 or so. My weapon is decent, but I can't seem to kill them fast enough, especially on the hijack mission. Any tips that can help me finish these missions?

not to be mean but if you can't finish tier 2 missions with good equipment you are doing something very wrong, they are real easy compared to tier 3 and 4 and all of them can be solo'ed
Askplayers you see in space for help or at the space terminal.. you will see you will find help faster than you think.

I have asked and either got no reponse or they flat out tell me no. The problem is that if I just had the mission targets to deal with I could probably do it, but when you include the normal riff raff out in say Dant, I have a problem. Because not only am I getting beat on by the mission targets, but also the riff raff.

I agree, Tier 2 missions are a breeze, I solo'd mine. Just target components and shoot out their reactor/engine.
Tier 3 mission are h3ll, I spent 2 hours on one, to fail the mission and have to do it all over.

If you find yourself having problems one strategy that seemed to help me in my tier 3 missions (tough)instead of your goal being to destroy the ships fast, move to disabling them fast..
by targeting their Reactor [ or ]..
also the first box you should get in tier2 is the Long probe certification then the component.. getting the extra fire power with the 2nd weapon is key..

There is also this post currently running in the pilot forums where jtl players from all servers are offering their help to others to do their respective missions.
Pilots for hire
You might find someone in there willing to help you out.

I have not played the space poortion of this game in a month. I am stuck at 2222 and have no plans to play JTL until the devs do something about this system then requires a group when we all know how hard it is to find players who want to spend over an hour to help you. Maybe its their way of hiding the lack of space content. Make it so only the power gamers of people with a ready group of friends can master the pilot professions.

Check the clicky i made in the post above as these are players from the various servers who are willing to help people out to do missions who they do not know and have never met before. I am on Chimaera and have listed my name there as well and will help anyone out who contacts me as long as im not in mid mission already. There are players out there who will help people and that post is the first attempt to bring them all together in one place to help others out. Have a look through there and you may find someone from your server willing to help out.

I kinda see why you realistically shouldn't be able to do solo all the ships you come across. I mean, you're up against several opponents at the same time who are in better ships - if you tried doing that in the ground game you'd have your a$$ handed to you pretty bloomin quickly! In fact, it always seemed a bit odd that I could take out several tier 2 ships (and even the odd tier 3) with my bog standard, un-upgraded Tie Fighter Light Duty (I only started doing my imperial flights yesterday, so I'm at 1111, nearly 2111)
I guess the point is that you should be fighting in squadrons (like they would probably do in reality).. it's a shame there's no way of going into battle with some NPC wingmen who you can order around somehow, but by the sounds of things there's a lot of 2222 pilots out there who are having the same problem - you just need to help each other out.

Are you a rebel, imp or independant pilot? this ship chassis can make a real difference.
I'm a 3322 indi pilot, and at Tier 2 I found the Kimogila to be way better than the black sun alternative because the mass was so much higher.
Through shopping around I found LVL5 parts for it to push the armour upto around 900 back and front, and a 14k reactor which coped with 3 good blasters doing 1 -1.5k damage each. Capacitors are a compromise between outright energy and recharge rate -I had a 1200 capacitor but found that 700 with faster recharging was better in combat as once the 1200 was used I had to evade fire while it recharged!
My experience with the dunelizard wouldsay fit the largest reactor and guns you can find and ignore missiles, a decent blaster hits for 1000+ (same as a lvl3 missile) but without the 8 shot limitation. It is so easy to pepper the sky around the target and waste your capacitor energy so try to only fire short bursts when the sight is over the green lead reticule if you can. It also helps a lot to disable ships by taking out reactors and engines as this can be quicker than destroying them (hit [ or ] when targetted) you can always swing around when the whole wave is sat there disabled and destroy them for loot. As you start to learn how far in front to shoot every shot will hit home.
I agree Tier 3 is difficult, I've just done a couple of Jabba's missions. The combat was fine even in the 5 on 1 situations because I have a good ship, but I failed thepunisher disable and search mission a couple of times because wave after wave of ship failed to have the mission critcal info. On the 3rd attempt 2 out of the first 3 ships had it and I succeeded in about 10 mins.
