Thread: Suggestion: Space Stations

Although many ideas for space stations would have been mentioned, mine is not just for expanding the game - it's for easing the burdon on pilots.

From doing missions in the starting phases (twice thanks to a CorSec bug) I have learnt a valuable lesson - moving from space to ground, then ground to space slows my computer down considerably. Why? Coronet, Theed, Mos Eisley etc are all very popular cities, and each time you have to land, you appear at the Starport, full of spammers, and many many people with pets etc.
This you must get through, find the trainer, go through again and go into space. It is a considerable drain on resources, mostly because of the popularity of these cities. This problem does not exist in empty towns, but then again, neither do trainers.

My suggestion is to have the factional bases (inc Neutral) have their respective trainers on board and so forth. Here is would be easier to find groups for pilots, much less drain on resources and also allows for another aspect to the GCW.....

...So you have a MP ship, and some of your imp friends on board as well. Fly close enough to a rebel station, dock with it (although this is considered 'boarding' rather than docking) and there they can shoot some rebels etc - pretty much like a dungeon.

Bases with the capabilities to dock would only be in systems where trainers already exist, and have a very standard layout - only thing varying being where people are located etc.

- But mainly to cut down on the resource drain

opinions?
