It has to be mutual. which means you have to be on his list, and he has to be on your list. if both these terms are not satisfied, /findfriend will not work

Only people on your friends list will be able to find you via /findfriend.

Simply remove everyone you don't know or who isn't your friend.

Remove anyone you don't trust knowing where you are from friend's list.
