Thread: XvT & Star Wars fans. Y-Wing engine sound all wrong?

Okay, yeah, this is really nit-picky. But the Y-Wing has traditionally been my ship of choice, and I noticed since installing JtL that the engine sound is really, really not even close. Usually they get it right, but in this case the Y-Wing has the same sort of "jet engine" sound that I would expect from the X-Wing. Normally, the Y-Wing engine sound has a sort of hollow, echo-y hum or buzz to it. It always sounded a bit like someone holding an electric razor up against a metal bowl. Is it actually a factor of what engines you install (and in that case, wouldn't TIE's change their sound as well)? Or did they just save space by recycling other engine sounds.

Engine sound depends on the engine you use. Using a Tie-type engine will produce a different sound. Some engines out there seem to produce the "correct" sound. One of the cool things about customization. I would be disappointed if radically different engines didn't sound radically... different

I would be disappointed if that were the case as well, actually. I noticed that it certainly was with blasters. So hmmm, perhaps I ought to look up and see what the standard Y-Wing engine model was to see if they got it right. That being said, could I thus make a Y-Wing that soudned like a TIE? Heh.
