I have only done this in the back, and wow was it confusing....I'd try to target the closet enemy...in front of the ship, last enemy who hit you....in front of the ship....there should be a closest target in view key or something like that because most of the time i was just trying to find a ship...then if i would it would be out of range before i could hit it...or just make it overall player friendly

Yup, my gunner had a hack of a time back there in the Y.
BTW< how do you, or can you, select who goes where?
Can you swap in flight?

well how i was doing it you have the pilot pilot and the gunner just stand really close then the pilot launches in space....as far as the two seaters you cant switch as far as i know....for the bigger multiplayers im not sure
