It would make sense. I mean if in the ground you get it then why not in space? It's the same war and its all part of the same thing.
But since it makes sense then you know the devs aren't going to do it. They only know to screw things up.

you have to declare at your faction Space Station. After that you gain faction points for killing faction ships

being overt in space does give you faction points, 15 for tier III 30 for tier IV, almost got a teir V the other night but went LD with like 2 shots to go
Import thing to rember is that you are OVERT, faction points are your reward for the risk, don't be upset ifa playerswoops in and blasts you. After each target, this "target closet enemy player" (shift tab I think, I put it to a stick button) and make sure the area is clear.

You know what's funny?
A tier 5 Gunboat gets you 194 FP.
A corvette gets you 92 FP.
I mean.. huh?

I heard but havent verified.... if you declare Overt in space you wont be overt when you land. Is this correct?
If it is do you have to re-declare when you launch.

You will not be overt on the ground. You will have to redeclare every time you launch.

Do you stay overt as you move around from solar system to solar system? And is there some visible indicator that lets me see what my overt status is?

A corvette is MUCHeasier to destroy. Makes sense to me.
Or do you really think size matters? ![]()

You remain overt once you declare until you land or are destoryed. When you decare you get a text message telling you that you are now Overt and attackable.

Not exactly... I'm an Imperial and I can nail gunboats VERY easily. You just have to know the tricks. Rebel Gunboats (not sure about imperial boats) have a HUGE blind spot: Their bottom. If you fly behind and below them (the side under the V of the wings, should be more greyish) you can aim straight for their underside and unload on them for a while. When you get too close, Dip your nose down anddistance yourself from their belly and then pitch it back up so you are looking at them from below again. Just keep doing that, and You shouldn't get hit. Yes, even if there are several in a group, they fly in formation so as long as you are underneath all of them (their bottoms usually face the same way) you can take out several of them in a few minutes.

Doesn't going overt in space and killing rebel space craft give you faction? Or vice versa if your Rebel. Not sure about what to do if your nuetral.

RSF and Corsec should be able to declare at their respectively-aligned factional starbases (Imperial for RSF, Rebel for Corsec), and I THINK Smuggler's pilots can declare one or the other upon entering either optional zones, or choose to remain neutral.
