I have recently noticed that you have to be the same faction to even co-pilot a ship. Now I'm sure most, like myself, freelance pilots have friends that are imp or rebel. Currently co-piloting is droid commands and checking damage status on equipment. All factions do that, and al factions can use eachothers driod commands. I propse to have the co-pilot 's chair be accessible to anyone and set allowable via the ship admin contoll. to keep it current with GCW rebels cantco-pilot imp ships and vice versa, but they both can co-pilot neutral ships and neutralscan co-pilotor whatever faction you lean twards. This would help in the problems in gettinga full crew inthe mp ships.

Yeah, it seemed a little strange to me, too.
I mean... An Imp can man the turret guns on my Nova Courier, but heaven forbid he touch the droid commands? What's up with that!?

Thisis a post I made in the JTL forum. <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=lightspeed&message.id=164794">Click here to read!</a>
It refers to the ships co-poilot not having to be the same faction you are.

I also think they need to add a few more goodies for the Ops O to make them want to be in the seat.
Things like:
Some kind of Enhanced Radar
Directing Fire
Directing Targeting
Repair Droid Control
Stuff like that. I mean who wants to sit in a seat and hope to get to push a button every once in awhile?

I am not sure what the deal is? I am in smugglers alliance and I co-pilot my guildie's decimator all the time.

Try getting your Imp guildies to pilot your YT. They can't, they will get a wrong faction message.

You cannot have differnt faction co-pilots couse co-pilots other than use the droid programs can also use theit specials, that will givea problem since different faction gives you diff specials.

You know the co-pilot was not thought out properly.
I mean, the co-pilot does not even hear the flight computer's feedback on commands. They have no way of telling if their commands are working.
They also don't have access to the components read out like the pilot and thus cannot tell if their commands disabled the ship's parts or if things are damaged and in what way.
Just fixing those two things can vastly improve the co-pilot seat.
As for only same factioned pilots using the co-pilot chair, the co-pilot also handles special abilities and has to use their own learned commands. Now, do you really want to see YTs calling bomber strikes or decimators using e-pulses?

shfire you got it a little wrong.
As a neutral Pilot you can NOT co-pilot rebel or imp ships...

I know that. Currently you have to be the same faction as the ship to co-pilot it. I'm proposing that be changed. It is hard to get a full crew out there. much less get a co-pilot. It would be easier to find a crew if co-piloting would be accessible to every one and controlled via the ship admin terminal. I've had plenty of friends who are imp that would love to co-pilot my yt.
