Mastered Pilot about 3 weeks after JTL launch, and haven't been up into space since (apart from to help other ppl out doing missions). Yes i visited DS and the like. But I've been spending all my time since on the ground, back to NS killing and rancor grinding with the occasional visit to Lok (when it's spawns are working).
Best thing JTL gives is the ability to travel anywhere without having to wait for that damn shuttle and make 3 hops to your destination - and you don't even have to fly - Bonus
(oh and the fact it's quieter around spawns due to less ppl on the ground!)

Yup, I've been spending quite some time on the ground lately.
My main character on my favorite server hashit quite a brick wallwith his Imperial tier 3 missions, so JTL is pretty much just a taxi service anymore.
It is nice to see a little more 'room' around lairs and POIs on the ground. Now I can do a lot of the things I couldn't before due to the overcrowding.

With the solo group mission payout correction, my chief source of income is space loot. I've been down on the ground to craft meds and help people grind out some combat profs, but not for much else.

I'm still flying. The thing that keeps me up there is I'm always finding better loot. Every day I think I've pushed my ship to the max. Just yesterday I got the final components I needed to fit 2 advanced blasters and an experimental ion cannon on my X-wing.
JTLS will probably slow down eventually but it's still something you can do without buffs and without a group. That helps when you have just an hour or so to play.

I'm on the ground a lot. Space loot has dropped off so much there's not a lot of point to space

Im in space as much as I possibly can be. Theres no beating the money you make up there, even just killing silly basic stuff.
And its a blast! I mastered privateer almost a month ago now but JTL hasnt lost any of its appeal to me. Im a guildmaster and mayor and I have 2 crafters so i have duties to tend to on the ground that prevent me from flying as much as i would like. But when i get a chance ill zip to space for an hour to make a quick 200k-300k and have some fun.

interesting - excluding myself we have 3:3 on the ground : in space , so it's a 50:50 ratio so far lol

Err well i mastered two pilot professions so far.. might try for a third, i dunno. (you guys do know about the master pilot bonus right?)
Personnaly play causually, so logging in and running a teir4 duty mission or whatever is just fine with me. I like finding loot, and making some cash.
That said ive been contemplating going back to the ground long enough to master a profession or two there. thinking smuggler and/or BH.
Still though, theres alot of untapped potential.. chiefly in mutliplayer ships and group encounters that really need to be put into JTL.

"I mastered about two weeks after launch, but then had a ball setting up squadrons and teams to engage pvp in Kessel with less lag and less NPC activity then Deep Space and let others who weren't aces participate. Ever since the Kessel change PvP in space basically is non-exsistant and now with the station changes there just isn't anything left to go up there for. Back to being a Stormtrooper for me "
I dont understand it, if you were setting up squadrons and teams for PvP, what does that have to do with kessel? You can do that in space or deep space, just declare.
