Ok I have a quick JTL question. I just finished 1,1,1,1 rebel pilot. and i bought a y-wing and i put all my stuff from the old ship on it.
and now when I launch into space my weapons do not work. Is there something I am missing? They are loaded. and the y wing has 2 slots for weapons. but neither one of the fires. thanks in advance for the help!

You mak have to adjust your Weapons Group. Select "G" and move all your weapons to the same group. Check you controller too.

Not enough energy output from the reactor. Check to see if it's in red on the 'manage' screen -- the number on the left has to be less than the one on the right for your equipment to work well.
um...at least i *think* this is it, i may be wrong

Also FYI the second weapon slot on the standard Y-wing is the turret and requires a gunner to operate. The Longprobe variant (certed at 2-x-x-x) is a single-seat version which allows the pilot to operate both weapons.

from what i heard the only good ships in rebel are x-wing and a-wing! the rest of em turn like they are piloted by the elderly!

First, you cannot use an X-wing or A-wing at tier 1 level, Sherlock.
Second, its not meant to be as manuverable. Its mass is designed to make up for it.

Make sure your capacitor isnt damaged- if its badly damaged then it wont work atall- head to the station and check if repairs are available through /comm.
