Thread: Why do people want others to NOT have the N1?

people complain about the timeline and GL's "used future" look and compare to other time periods
lets put that all aside and say, wouldn't an N1 be kewl to use in JTL?
the answer is yes
but on the other hand, we got the people who flame the people who would like to own an N1 for dumb reasons like, it's too old, it's ugly, it doesn't fit the timeline, etc.
1) answer to timeline flame: the Z95 is older than the N1, so that solves that issue
2) answer to ugly flame: it's sleek and kewl fyi, and if you don't like it, then don't get it which = problem solved for you
3) answer to rarity flame: who cares if it must be rare, we'll just make it a hard-to-find+assemble schematic or something
3.5) second answer to rarity flame: many people all over the world collect, restore and use antique planes, cars, appliances, boats, etc. it can be done in a fantasy world too

4) answer to N1 is weak flame: the N1 handles just as good as any x-wing in other SW flight sims, why not this one?if you don't like it, don't get it which = problem solved for you again

5) answer to typing mistake flame: you only insult others for their typos because you got nothing better to flame about since i previously posted combacks before you could even flame about those things the combacks were defending

The N1 was a privately made ship, only made and used by the Naboo Security Force. That specific force i believe was destroyed whent he time of the Emperor came.

Yeah, I think it is too specialized. The only people who use itis the Naboo Security Force, or something like that. The ship is not widely available, and maybe it breaks Episode 3 continuity. There must be some reason this ship isn't used in the GCW, so either it is
1.Too expensive
2.The Emporer destroyed the schematics and ships or something
3.They are far weaker (I don't believe so, but what does that matter if Lucas disagrees, right?)
4.A reason I can't think of

N1 was sleek and fast ship. It could carry 8 proton torpedoes on board , and no it was not weak. It had shields when TIE fighter had none. It was very maneuverable and capable of standing its own in a dogfight, proof is in Episode 1. As for why they are not in use any more ? The reason is the same as for 1 out of 10 players uses ranged weapon now.

Naboo Security Forces were destroyed? then why can you fly as one? Why are they patrolling around theed?
It would be neat if you get a permanent cert for the N1 somewhere in the privateer profession if you fly as RSF, so you can drop it, and do another one and get certs for more ships. Perhaps the exception is if you pick up imp or reb pilot.
there is actually an entire series of N# fighters
N1: normal multipurpose fighter
N1a: (or N2) Fighterbomber, has a rear turret
N2: (or N3) Interceptor
thats three, and sufficent to make a complete series of ships in JTL.

Can you show me a link to the Dev discussing it? I guess I missed it.
It's certainly not in the game yet, but I have never heard that it was out of the question.

A little bit to add:
N1 Starfighter
It does sound to me like it is a very specialized craft that cannot be properly serviced by anything other than another Nabooian ship/station/spaceport. Although agreed, it does not say it was exclusive to the RSF or that it was totally destroyed by the Emperor.

Perhaps because some people feel the game needs other improvements that should be slightly higher in priority than adding another pretty space ship? I dunno, like the Combat Revamp, GCW Revamp, Smuggler Revamp...
I know, it's silly. Making sure you get to fly your kewl Naboo Starfighter is much more important.
