you would still need a crew to use them lets see you out manouver a tie or x-wing or just about anything in a multi player craft.
At low speed those mulitplayer ships turn on a dime.... To be honest it is not that hard to track any ships.
Though the fire power is not that great.
Now missles is another thing and the pilot does have them to fight with now, I have never had a problem with traking and shooting a ship with them including A wings.

But still, having 2 forward firing laser cannons that the pilot can use is not a bad idea.
Missiles run out, after that the pilot of a multiplayer ship can get quite boring.

i can easially outmanuever most NPC ships including tier 4 and 5 TIEs and a-wings in my nova at half speed,alough i would love two forward firig lasers,the devs might need to reduce the turning speed a little to balance it,cause frankly despite the accel restrictions a ship that big shouldnt be able to track an a-wing

I think i would like to have it. I know id like to have a Rear turrent. Pilot is boring on the MP ship??? Try Ops station lol. Maybe a Single laser to rear and fwrd that the Ops can Use. I pilot my ship and try to keep the Gunners on target why would i need to manuver to fir a fixed Laser when they are targeting the one thats actually doing damage to my ship? Ehh either way.

what would the gun be good for? if you have gunners and turn like mad to target a ship you wont have gunners for long and if you dont you could just sign the "fixing turrets to fire forward" petition. they want these ships to be pure mp ships and the other master ships for solo players (or two players). while i would agree that it would still work if the mp ships could be used solo with severe limitations (pretty much automatic, you cant fly, repair and use turrets at the same time) its not how soe wants it. they prefer beating players into submi... erm.. groups, so you better start looking for one ,-)

I think they need to make it so the yt nova and decimator have a top turret a bottom turret and a left and right turret, also maybe 2 shield holders, it would make them more fun and encourage a decent amount of people to group and go into space and actually give them something decently fun to do...

Wrong.... it did have it.
Episode IV Han and cheiw were in the cockpitwhen they shot the ties that caused vader to spin off into space.
Also they shot at a short range fighter while in the cockpit when they arrived at the Destroyed Alderan location before being sucked into the deathstar.
At least give us control over a turret. Its a multiplayer ship but dont you think that in this day and age in technology that they would put in computers to control the turrets incase a passenger dies.

Thats what they did in X-Wing Alliance. The YT1300 and YT2000 that you can pilot in that game lets you use the turret to shoot from the cockpit. It even allows u to set it on auto fire and still allows you to shoot at the front.

All the Devs would need to do is probably borrow the same code and bingo, a forward firing turret at pilots disposal 
But i think it should be limited so that, if u have gunners, pilots cant fire them, and no gunners = pilots can fire them.

This issue still hasnt died. I am not saying it would be totally bad to have. I do however disagree with having it. Those ships already have like 5 million mass to play with, dont you think that is enough. I think if you get 1 forward firing gun it should be limited to 30k mass (The gun i meen). My reason for this is, if you can load anything bigger in a forward firing position, you have eliminated the need for it to be a multicrewed ship. You already can repair components under fire andYou have Turrets. These ships are not attack craft, their weaponry is totally for defense only. You want an offensive ship, fly a fighter, not a freighter or a gun platform.
