Has anybody noticed if they have fixed any of the problems with the mining ship. Like can it be used to actualy mine

hehe, tis the ship they made for us to mine with, yet we cant mine anything(unless you know exactly what to do)... this situation perfectly defines the definition of ironic dont you think?

Even if they fixed the bugs, the ship wouldn't be any better at mining. We need an MU now.

One thing that would truely fix the Y-8 would be to allow other ships to transfer their cargo to it's hold. That way a mining team with a couple fighter class miners could really use the ship effectively.

Yes, the Y-8 is ... less then optimal for mining. Especially considering that at least 3 players are needed to operate all gun mounts.

Hiya folks. I've been out of the scene for a bit, since before the CU, and was wondring now that i got RotW, if the Mining Ship was worth getting and how a person would go about getting it.

I did it up to the point where I am supposed to escort some Y-8 mining ships but I can't seem to find them. Is this where it is broken ?

Like most of you, I am waiting for the mining ship to be reorganized to be more functional. In the meantime I was wondering, if anyone is currently using them and how you set it up to be most effective. So far the best lay out for me was the MKIII mining laser n the top turret, so its also a weapon, with the tractor beam out the front. However, with the asteroid chunks timing out, and the time it takes the engines to spool up to speed, I find most materials time out beforeI get there. Has anyone found a way to work the ship to make it more productive than using a fighter??? without the constant landing requirements of a fighter....

Do you need to do a quest to get the Y-8 Mining Ship and if so who do you talk to in what city to get started?

you cab start the quest from an NPC named Flash in the kashyyyk tree


but you can only do about 7 missions before you run into a bug that cannot be bypassed.


currently there are thousands of people waiting to finish this mission since it was bugged back in publish 18
