I have the same problem with the same joystick. Just got it a couple weeks ago, was using a Microsoft Precision Pro before.

Logitech's joysticks have become extremely low quality in the last year or so. I used to recommend them, but after my girlfriend's recent experience with a 3d Pro Extreme (or something like that) which is a decalibrating mess, I wouldn't touch them again with a 10 foot pole. I use a Sidewinder myself, and hope it lasts a few more years. My suggestion is to try a Saitek.

Hello all!

I am not new to this game or JTL, but i took a 5 month break, and now i'm back.

I wanted to start with piloting again and i left off 2222 imperial flying, in which i used a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick. I remember having problems configuring the Sensitivity and the dead zone, but i also remember getting it rigth and it working great. Well now i have the same problem and have no clue what to change. My problem now is, when i move the joystick just a little bit away from the center, it hardly moves at all. But once i get past a certain areait suddenly jerks at a much faster pace, thus I lose any precise aiming that i had. My question is, how should i adjust my sensitivity/deadzone to remedy this? I have tried all the possibilities, but i just cant seem to make it work =(

Thanks!!

I don't think JTL has a correct "deadzone" setting (i.e an area where the joystick doesn't cause movement). If you're not exactly centered, you'll drift. For me, not a big issue since my MS force feedback stick easily centers itself.

When using the mouse however, this is INCREDIBLY annoying. Their idea of "deadzone" is the area in which you move the cursor around. To stop drifting with the mouse it needs to be, always, exactly centered. I wish I could configure a REAL deadzone within which the mouse cursor didn't cause drift. That would make playing/aiming with a mouse a lot easier.

Hmm, I use the exact same joystick (Bought mine Two Weeks ago). It has been working very well. There Is a Deadzone setting for space, in the options menu. I know that for the mouse I closed mine down to the absolute minimum, whether this affects the Stick or not, I do not know and, NOW, I'm not terribly interested in fiddling with it to fins out!

There is not muchadjusting you can do in the game. Only dead zone which I would put at just a little bit above zero unless you have a really good centering stick. Then I would try the sensitivity settings, I have mine set about middle but some like it less or more. Turning it up will make your stick react quicker and lower will react slower.

Other then that I would check you stick for proper calibration. I don't know much about your model but some sticks also allow you to adjust the reaction curve and the dead zone. If you can, set the dead zone assmall as your stick will tolerate to get the best precission. Same with the dead zone setting in game.
