Thread: Royal TIE Corvette Bugged?

Hey guys, some members of my guild and I were running the Royal TIE Mish tonight. We got to the part where you capture the vette. Disabled it all fine, got it under way...Four rebel attackwaves later the thing blew up... And I don't mean it got shot I mean it just BLEW UP, before any rebels were even within 1000 feet of it. At first we thought maybe it was the gunship that came with wave four so we tried again... This time it blew up at wave THREE.

Is this mission currently bugged or something? It SEEMS like the ship must be getting attacked because the thing always blows as a wave of ships arrives, however the trick is that it's WHEN the wave arrives, not when they begin to attack. It always blows before they even get in range.

Can anyone tell me if we're doing something wrong or if the missions just bugged right now?

Has no one else had an experience like this?

did you put a bomber-strike on the corvette? because the bomberstrike keeps on attacking the vette even after it has been captured. maybe they destroyed it.

using a bomberstrike is rather tricky in this mission. a good tip is to leave the reactor intact. and to maybe use a small bomberstrike.

The bomber strike doesn't do any damage once its captured.

You could try doing the mission un-grouped, I remember with one of the Y-8 quests, if you were grouped on one of the missions it got bugged and always failed.

that wasnt the case when i did the quest (shortly after ROTW came out). bomberstrike did damage, of course only if they directly hit the currently active subsystem (e.g. reactor or bridge), which they often dont.

Must have changed recently then, my bomber strike 3 was attacking the vet throughout the entire escort part.

Why bomber strike it in the first place.

Take out the fighter escort.

Space bomb turret number 5

Space bomb the shields (both sets)

Blow up the engines

Be sure to stay behind the corvette at all times when using space bombs else the rest of the turrets blow you up very quickly.

This can be done solo in an opressor if you have good enough equipment in it.

Failing that get a couple of friends to come give you a hand.

only destroy one turret as it doesn't repair them when you take it over and you are really going to need them later.

Nothing flash, nothing fancy just get the job done.

Yeah yeah I know, I just completely forgot about the bottom turret thing at the time! It'd been ages since I'd taken out a corvette!

Easier than space bombing the shields (well less wasteful at least) is to fly some distance in front of and below (can't shoot you once bottom turret has been taken out, again with just lasers) the vette and shoot the shields, they die in a couple of shots anyway. Then continue around to the aft and take out the engines...easy!

Why spacebomb? Just shoot the danged turrets.

Anyhow, that's not what the thread is about. That vette can be a pain - we did it a few nights ago, and almost lost it to some yellow con Tier 3 NPCs, so you might watch for those. That, and the attacking ships may have launched a missile. After each wave check the corvette's reactor, since that's what they're targeting. It's the only component they have to blow, so if you give them any chance at all it goes pretty quick.
