Repost from another thread in the hopes someone can help

ok, I just triedthe corvetteand no matter what I do the shield never drops below 100% (not talking about the priamry and secondary shield generators).

I have tried sitting directly behind the engine and trying to take out gun 5 aswell (which usually results in a quick death ) but no matter how many times I hit the damn thing the shields never drop.

Bug or am I being stupid??

Ok, now you have two options, you can tank the vette or you can strafe the vette. Always strafe the bottom to take out turret 5, then shield shunt if you've been hit, then you have to position yourself to actually hit the areas to damage if you are going to use blasters, to hit the shields attack from the side of the vette.

Best way is get a ship with multiple ordanance slots, fill it up with missles, then after turret 5 is gone sit behind the engines, sub target the shields and then fire missles. Apparently the missles don't need line of sight.

the way i did it was once i'd disabled/destroyed the escort i sat in behind the engines of the vette, target and selected sub systems - main shield fired three proton III missiles, main shield gone now select back up shield, three missiles later no back up shield, now i selected one of the weapons(think it was #8) another three missiles and ship was disabled. All you got to do now is survive the the gunboats and tier 4/5 ships that turn up. put a search in for ZekeCalhoun on these forums i think hes got a thread on completing this mission somewhere
