Thread: Weapons dont work
Need more specific information before we can help you.
- What happens when you fire the weapons? Nothing? or do you get a clicking sound?
- Is your firebutton mapped correctly in the keymap?
- Do you have a weapons capacitor installed?
- Before you launch, is your energy total in RED?

The energy bar being red means that your components are using more energy than your reactor is producing. This means some of your components won't work properly, or at all. You need a bigger reactor, or the Reactor Overload droid command.
The Y-wing is a multiplayer ship, and the pilot cannot fire the weapon in the second slot. That weapon can only be fired by a passenger.
Put a weapon in the first slot, that should fix you up.

You don't see reatcor power on the circle in the middle the screen. The bar to the left is speed and 1 to left is capcitor. You prolly put ur wpn in the Y-Wing's rear turret(the one used by alternate gunner). All you need to do is uninstall the wpn and place it in the first wpn slot thing on the manage window

Give us a list of everything you have loaded in your starship, including stats, then take a screenshot how of how it all looks on the Ship Management screen before you launch.
Then check your keymap, under CTRL-O, while in space. What key is bound to Fire-and-Cycle? And are you hitting ths key (usually first mouse button) when you're trying to fire?

Sounds like you're flying a standard tier 1 Y-Wing, rather than a Longprobe, and have your weapon equipped in the gunner position. If you scroll out and look at a third-person view of your ship in space, and the gun is on top of the canopy, then it's in the gunner position. Install it in the other position (there should be two spots for "weapon" in your manage components window), and make sure you have a reactor with enough power for all your systems, and you should be OK.
A standard Y-Wing requires a second pilot to fly as a gunner, in order to operate both weapons. The pilot can only fire the nose gun. A Longprobe has both guns fixed for forward firing and both are controlled by one pilot.

i finally found out the problem. my guns were working properly but they were set wrong in my keymap. A level 80 pilot suggested this. they now work.
Glad you found the solution. We suggested checking your keymap at least twice in this thread already.
