Whats the deal with gunboats catching up to me when im flying 1136 top speed?
can anyone answer this? What reasoning is behind this? How can anyone strafe a gunboat and not die because they're being followed by a gunboat that goes faster than thier ship?

Haven't seen this yet. What tier were they? What faction were they? What area/mission?

I was helping a guild mate out with a privateer mission the other day, and matched a Corsec Gunship at about 650. Haven't seen one top that, though. I'm curious as well, what breed of gunship and what tier is capable of speeds like that.

The only gunboats I've seen move that fast were the ones related to the Corvette mission in Kashyyyk space. They move as fast as starships.

the ones in Kashyyk space on the "I want a challenge" mission seems to haul a$$. I was jousting two Tier 5 boats as part of the mission, and they knocked out my droid interface, so I decided to see if I could run to the space station and repair. Those things closed on my at better than 1100 speed. I boosted to 1400 for whatever I could, but they could average better than me, so either they have huge booster pools, fast recharge rates, or their engines simply flat out run!
