I heard rumors right before beta (back during E3 and some other expos) that people had seen TIE Defenders flying around in some of the play tests. Anyone know more about this? I hope they make it available later =}

I know it was in some of the earliest certification lists.
Anyway, I don't think they should add it. If they did, they would have to turn it into a heavy bomber because of the immense firepower. They can't quite stay true to the TIE defender of the X-wing games without creating a serious balance issue. In effect, it's a ship with more firepower than the B-wing, shields as strong as the B-wing, maneuverability and speed of the A-wing. In JTL terms it would be a TIE interceptor with much more hardpoints for weapons and about five times the mass.

Your wrong. the Bwing and Tie Defender were equal in firepower. You want to talk aboutmajor imbalances? Why dont you review the ships on both sides in jtl. Youll see unbalances.
The Empire Doesnt even get a decent ship with 2 lasers and 1 Missile til tier 4. You getyours at what? tier 1 i do believe.
