"The transport rocked as blaster bolts burned its hull. The troops inside checked their weapons, as fighters screamed by outsidein the icy void. The Star Destroyer loomed massive outside the viewport, cutting through space like a blade.

"Torpedoes shrieked as they rocketed towards their target, blooming in orange fire as they struck the shield generators. The message buzzed over the comm-system: "Enemy Shields disabled, prepare for boarding". Soldiers made their last prayers, as the two Novas rushed into the enemy hangar, crashing into the flight deck, before opening their hatches and belching out their cargo.

"The troops were met by thefocused fire of Imperial warriors, slicing through their ranks. Turrets on the transports blasted away, blowing holes in the Destroyer's defences. The Rebel troopers charged forward, their Squad Leaders rushing ahead, calling in the survivors, pulling together a proper force. Then they ran, blasting as they went, rushing down the narrow corridors, charging their foes with all the might of desperate men. Smugglersworked at terminals, shutting down enemy defences, whilst Combat Medics knelt atwounded comrades, and crack Commandos used their massive weapons to annihilate pockets of heavier resistance.

"Together, twenty men fought, and died, pushing ever further into the bowels of the ship. They reached the bridge, at last. All together, they crashed into the nerve centre of the vessel, cutting down pilots, officers, resorting to fists and swords when they ran out of ammo.

"Then silence. The soldiers looked about, at their fallen comrades, their slaughtered enemies, looked out at the stars, and the raging battle still continuing in the icy void of space. They cheered, laughed, rejoiced, then set about the task of turning the mighty Star Destroyer to their own use."

Ok, maybe a little unlikely for 20 rebs to take on a star destroyer, but hey. I posted this because I really think that Boarding Actions are something that should, at some time or other, feature in JTL. For one thing, it's a fairly cool thing to do, but for another, it really encourages teamwork. I only included a few professions in the story above, but there's room for everyone, from Doctors buffing the troops before they set off, to Bounty Hunters lending a hand with their heavy weapons. Plus, it would be dead easy to implement, as the devs already have the corvette to base the ship interior on, and all you need is an extra optionto land on it, without anycomplicated game mechanics being involved. It'd be just like docking at a station. If anyone has any reasons why boarding actions shouldn't be included, or any ideas for them, just reply to this post.

I completely agree. For PvE missions, where the Nebulan B frigate must be borded, a specific area reached, and something obtained. It would make the multiperson craft more interesting. Of course, how to issue experiance to the commandos/pilots...

You could just give them experience for what they kill, and the reward for completion of the mission is something nice for their ships, or some nice new ground weapon.
