Anyone know how you pains starships?

You'll need a "Starship Paint Kit" from a Shipwright.

If you want to change the paint style, you'll also need one of the six types of "Starship Texture Kits" as well.

Yeah I have the texture kits and a paint kit but I dont know how to use them. But I tried on my vet ship and it didnt work so can you paint them ?

as a matter of fact,u can paint ur vet ship....mine is green in black,with texture kit 1....but sometimes when u do try to piant it it doesnt work,like,the second screen doesnt pop up with the list of colors,and if that happens just like relog and go to different planets and keep trying

The best way to paint it is on the ground, at a starship terminal.

Select your ship, but don't click manage, launch, or travel, and then use the paint kit.
