This is beyond a joke. Last monday we found out in the UK that the game JTL would not be released till the 5/11/04. This morning I find out that the date has slipped again till the 12/11/04. How many times to I have to build my hopes up. This now puts me 20 days behind the americans which is unexceptable. I am seriuosly considering withdrawing my subscription to SWG over this as its the final nail in the coffin.
Could the makers of this game please lean on Activision and get this game released as soon as possible or there are a lot of UK players that will say stuff it and may move on to other games (i'm only speculating but i'm sure there are many UK players that feel this way)

In the UK JTL is published by Activision (Lucasarts UK Publisher) and JTL has been delayed -again- until november 12th.

Can't you order the US version or will it not work with the euro servers?
It is the internet age afterall. I am not aware of anything stopping you from doing this except maybe some international trade law or something that no one really cares about and will obviously violate without thinking twice.
I have some friends on Bria that live in europe that have been playing since launch day with american ordered copies.

Ok, Cry4Dawn let me explain - In the UK Activision deal with the distribution of LucasArts games (and in so-forth this game is also a LucasArt game) and for some obscure reason the date keeps on getting pushed back. (finished explaining)
There was a method where you went to www.dlgamers.com but unfortunatly they have now ran out of codes. Theres also an ebay method but if your like me and don't trust ebay then in reality your stuck. You can mail order from abroad but if your like me and only have a UK debit card then you can't really mail order from abroad. Yes i could apply for a credit card but i see them as evil to encourage spending as credit... uh anyway.
I contacted www.gameplay.co.uk on there "livehelp" and unfortunatly even the stock suppliers are not giving the distributors[shops] any information on the matter. To be honest this isnt the only starwars game that activision has botched up the distribution for. When Star Wars battlefront was released it was in short supply not expecting it to be in such a mad rush.

Quite frankly don't be surprised if it's going to get pushed back again, and something tells me it will espescially with the release of Everquest 2being on the same day. 5th November was a good day for them to publish the game in the UK for because in reality there was little competiton.
If you can mind the wait then do so, if you can't wait then order from abroad. But to be honest there should be some method that if the UK has preordered they can get a CD key, espesscially with the fact that most of the code is already downloaded and only requires a key to download it. That really is stupid.
In all fairness each company is blaming one another, and the even worse problem is that Activison have no information about it on there uk website. I have to admit this isnt funny - and this is very nearly pushing me to quite the game, don't worry i won't let the door hit my ass on the way out!

i mistakenly didnt pre-order JTL thinking i could just get it a few days after release. I really dont want a boxed version, i want a CDKEY. SO i go to interact (an american game store that sells CD-keys like dlgamer) and turns out all of the UK took the codees and now im wiating on backorder too. (they say eta today or tomorrow). DLGamer is out but thats a french site.
Just be patient and try those stores.

I don't know if your aware of this but here in the UK we get charged for importing goods from other counties. Its called a customs charge and can almost cost as much as the game does.

no im not aware of tariffs on intl imports in UK (but im not suprised [cough cough 18th century cough cough]) but anyway, if you get charged that much to buy from other countries, then try those cd-key sites like dlgamer.com (should have stock soon according to them) or interactcd.com like i did.

no offence but we shouldn't have to, we should be able to walk to our nearest computer shop and buy it on the day of release. Having spoke to someone who works in the business he told me that it will be more likely December before we get it as for the next 4 Fridays Activision is releasing a big game and wants no competition for it (one of those games being Everquest 2).

look im not saying that this is fair at all, if thiscrap was happening here in the US i'd be at bbb.org whining my little @$$ off. im trying to help u here giving suggestions, u said u cant buy from states cuz of import tariffs, ok, then i suggested buying it digitally from dlgamer or interactcd. if you want a shiny new box and manual and CD fine, i cant help you, because i have no control over activision. i think the situation sucks and im sorry, but maybe u just need to make sacrafices if you want the game now.

sorry to come across like an a**hole but this is really begining to p*ss me off, I taken another 2 days of work to play this game only to find out today that the release date has moved for the 3rd time in a week, thats 4 holiday days i've wasted for nothing. Thanks for your help and advice but I cannot get out of the order I have placed as it was a multi order and i've recieved half of the stuff. So it looks like i'll have to suck it up and wait.
