Thread: Force Sensitive Pilot Skills
Unfortunately, you are going to get flamed for this, labelling them "Jedi" skills or not. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. I'm pretty sure I recognize your login a well, so we've probably had this dicussion before. Saying its not about Jedi doesn't matter; the end result is a pilot alpha class, just like Jedi.
JTL is different from the ground game. They both have different methods of playing, different reward systems, and they encourage different skills. The biggest difference is that your "template" has nothing to do with the number of fights you win. It's all about your skill as a player, not your character's XP expenditure.
The majority of long-term pilots want to keep it that way. Introducing buffs/stat increases/bonuses based on your template is going to take the focus away from the player's skill and put it on the character; we don't want that.

The whole point is to be able to do something with your prestige experience. Even if you didn't receive any bonus in piloting skills that would be fine, if you did have the bonus again they would be small enough to not even really matter in PvP.
This would add new stuff to do in space, do the quests, if you don't want the skills blocks don't train in them.
Again (and wow on the deja vu) if the skill boxes don't give you any benefit in a fight at all, why have them in the game? If they're too small to notice, what's the point of having them?
If you're only suggesting this to have something to do with your prestige, then concentrate on new content, not on making JTL more focused on character skills. More quests, more items, more things to do, that's all great. But don't take the focus off my skill as a player.
We don't want that.

Apparently I'm the only one that would like a template different from everyone else out there. The CU made everyone the same, I would just like something different.
And what is that, then?

It has taken awhile but I now realize why the game is the way it is.
Add additional pilot mission-progression above Ace, sure. That would be great. But skillpoint-pilot is just daft, and would further seperate and alienate people who enjoy both aspects of the game.
JTL needs more content. We need a proper War. We need a huge variety of ships. What we don't need, is to throw barriers of entry to this new content.

Like is said before - this has nothing to do with Jedi, I only used Force Sensitive (Which again is not Jedi) as a reference to get things going and a basis of 1 point skill blocks, people seem to see that and kick and scream and say there is too much for Jedi to do already. It has nothing to do with being a Jedi.
This would add new stuff to do in space, do the quests, if you don't want the skills blocks don't train in them.

That the masses do not like to be different, Probably one of the main reasons for the CU. It seems that PvP tends to control the game in this aspect, I do not like to PvP and rarely do it. I do enjoy a goodgroup but now much on PvP. The Nerf bat seems to usually fly based on this. I realize that a lot of things are broken and we lack content, we should have about 4 patches that address this problem. My orginial post was just a thought which would add something different and content would be included in it, allowthe Pilot Profession to stand out a little bit, and give people something to do with all the prestige points.

MASSES don't like to be different but INDIVIDUALS do.
In the pilot forum, you see dramatic differences in opinion and a lot of disagreeing even between folks whom are friends/guildies/fly together.
You also see agreeing on what SHOULD be and disagreeing about whatcurrently should be usedby the same people.
No one argues that Prestige shouldn't be used. However, putting prestige points into extra "abilities" for a pilot strikes more of compensation than addition.
Now, maybe using Prestige to modify existing ships, like a million prestige to increase yaw turn rate while descreasing pitch turn rate would be something I would like. It would create a ship "tailored" to a specific flying style while still keeping the ship within a certain range.
---Capital Ship Pilot Certification (If they were ever put in the game, Faction Aligned)
---Ability to purchase new tags you can wear above your head for Status.
---Ability to use Pilot Prestige to buy Schematics to have unique clothes.
---Purchase Schematics for new ship components or Ship schematics.
Just gonna say that there are elite pilots out there now.
In the twitch combat system in space, the ability of the individuals flying the ships is the true superiority.
Adding incremental increases, for whatever reason, to any ship stat isn't granting a pilot any skills. It is granting the ship better stats.
Sorry. I just can't agree with this ![]()

Quoted for Effect....
I cant agree with this either. Leave the pilot professions alone and just give us more to do in space. Enough with this jedi, or force sensitive crap.
No need for it. The point of space isnt who has what skill boxes but who has the better piloting ability. Even a pilot with lesser equipment can out fly someone with uber gear if the guy has no clue to what hes doing.
As far as spending prestige points on ships, or new certs, gear, clothing, ect. that would be cool.
Basically nothing on the ground should make any difference in space and it is pretty much like that already.
