Thread: I need help with taking out the Corvette.

How do you go about taking out the corvette for the Heavy X-Wing mission? I have tried it various ways with 2 other tier 4 pilots but die every time. Any tips please?

Look at the stickies in the pilot forum, especially the FAQ. They have links for posts which describes best way to take out a vette.
My advice : drag the escort first, kill them all. Then target weapon 5 on the vette, destroy it. At this point, the vette will have a large angle from whih you can attack and not being hit. Attack from this side, and shoot the 2 shields, then engine, and here you go, disable it is

if you have trouble with just taking over the vette, you're going to have hell with the gunboats. Heck, I don't think it's even possible to solo that mission just because of the Tier 5 gunboats that spawn.

You can solo this mission. The gunboats appear when the corvette is almost save. Just dont attack the gunboats and you will be fine.
Best way to disable the vette is to use missiles/torpedo's to take out the shields after you destroy the bottom gun ... there are plenty of guides on how to disable a corvette.
