Maybe this, or something along these lines, has been suggested before. If so, my appologies.
I have done all three Imperial squadron mission sets up into the teir 3 range. I went from Storm to BE to Inquisition and decided on the last one simply for roleplaying purposes. I am not going to argue about whichsquad's missionsI found to beactually harder to try and solo(BE!), but I noticed something about all three that seems to be a major bummer when trying to complete these missions.
Every time you have to re-do the mission you have to re-do every single stage in the mission even if you can easily complete them all up to the point where you failed. You go back and talk to your trainer and he tells you to go do whatever it is again. Fine, I don't mind doing it again. I don't want them easier. I like trying to beat the one's that are realy hard. I also understand that not all of the missions should be easily soloable. If I am not good enough to beat a particular stage in a mission, then I will ask for help and get itdone. What I do not like, however, is being sent on a mission that turns into a seamingly endless string of missions that turn into a long, tedious, grinding morass that I have to work through over and over again to get to the part of the mission that is actually challenging.
Would it not be better to simply restart the mission at the part you failed, or maybe the stage right before that? Is it completely necessary that we have to go back and redo all the rest of the mission that lead up to that part we failed at and that we have already succeeded at completing to get to the part of the mission that is actually challenging?
I am currently doing the teir 3 mission 4 Inquisition mission. I can pretty much smoke the whole thing up until the liberty ship. Should I have to keep going through the rest of the mission over and over again just to get to the liberty ship, especially when my trainer is sending me up for the parts of the mission I have already succeeded at? I really don't think so.

IMO, I think your should start over from the beginning. It's the price for failing the Emperor.
Because you know the mission is long, it makes it that much important not to fail.

Rubish, all it does is make people more aggrivated, furstrated and angry. After a month on the same mission I finally got an ace, tier3 and tier 4 group. Did the mission successfully all the way to the point of success but the ship I was to dock with blew while the docking sequence was starting. Now I have to do it all the way through again? Why? I didn't fail the emperor, I completed all 5-7 sequences in this mission...I have the system messages that say "MISSION COMPLETE". It does not say part of mission. Its the same time sink mentallity that nearly deystroyed this game before. Now that they seem to be serious about fixing things to retain customers and maybe get some back, they ought to fix JTL.
But this has been brought up and falls on deaf ears. This isn't a challenge, its insanity.
