One thing i have noticed that seems to be a big difference between ground and space PVP...space PVP seems to have a lot more honor involved. I know being on the ground (i'm a novice carbineer) and getting "own3d" i get all the kiddies running around saying, "N3wB!!!!1!! J00 g0t PWN3D!!1!1! LOLZ3rz!!!!" In space, on the other hand, I have noticed most people are very friendly and complimentary after a good go round, and generally will chat for a while. I've tried to figure out why the same people act differently in space. First i thought maybe it was the atmosphere of being a pilot and being in space and maybe a certain respect that comes with that. Or maybe it's the fact that it's a skill based game rather than a "ub3r" based game. Maybe people know when they've been bested in space and can take winning and losing accordingly, as not everyone always wins. regardless, whatever the reason, pilots seem to be a little more respectable and honorable than the normal ground gamer. so kudos to you pilots! You guys are the reason i still fly and love it.

Well i think alot of it depends on the situation.
Ive been in a couple friendly duels of sorts. Usually in good spirits, purely out of love for a good dogfight. I know of one pilot in particular who even stepped aside when another (unwanted ) rebel pilot joined in on our fight.
(lets face it, JTL can get boring and nothing beats the thrill of a good fight)
While patrolling for overts, its just buisness, nothing personal. If i see an overt, i move in to kill him. I don't care if he sees me or not. If i had any honor, i suppose id warn him, but by the time it occurs to me that he *really* doesnt see me, i've already made the decision to fire. On top of that, his not seeing me, is his mistake, not mine. That said, i never send anyone any tells, i dont even make note of their names, or even bother to read the name on who it is im shooting at.
In all fights though, I just move through the target and move on to find another target, nothing personal, just buisness. (theres a war on ya know
) In nearly every situation i think most who pvp reguarlly knows sometimes the only reason you won, is just plain dumb luck.

Heh, I don't think that the difference exists because it is skill-based. Play one round of counterstrike and you'll see all the same yelling and moaning as you do in SWG ground game. In fact, I believe that the screams of "wallhack!" are the only sound that can be heard from space.
In the context of SWG, though, it seems that at this point the players who actually spend time in space PVPing are those that really enjoy the act of playing JTL and, as such, appreciate space PVP combat. There really isn't nearly as much of an incentive to be in space as there is to be on the ground.

Gotta say mostly honourable over on farstar.
I say mostly, had a 1211 reb pilot in a y-wing sat there shooting me for half an hour before sending me a tell asking why I wasn't dead.
Sneak attacks, in corellia? How wuuude.
Gotta admit tho you don't really see much in the way of overt combat in space on farstar, might just be one of those things.
