Without holding the up arrow keep my throttle keeps going to 20ish. Anyone help a space noob with this. thanks

You have a joystick or gamepad hooked up? The throttle settings on the JS will override the keyboard if you do.

I use the Xbox controller, and for a while, my analog thumbpad was doing that. You just have the keys binded wrong. Go into the key bindings area and try playing around with that.
You've got the key binded to a controller or button that is a throttle. When you push up, it expects you to hold it there. You need to switch it to rudder or something like that.

There was a bug in Beta that was still unresolved on the final day that kept on cutting engine speeds.... maybe it didn't get resolved (shock!).
Otherwise, I found that every once in a while (it happened twice in 4 weeks of Beta) my joypad would need taking out and replugging into the USB port, because everytime I moved left, it cut my speed in half. Might be worth trying that.
