Thread: I Bought A Medium Starfighter Cargo Hold For 20K+

i don't have ROTW, so i presume i cannot mine space recources

so i see this option on my ship managment interface, seeing now we can have cargo holds

i was impressed by the massive amounts of space

"WOW, 915 UNITS OF SPACE FOR MY STUFF," i thought

i bought it for over 20k, a reasonable price i thought for 915 items to hold

after installation i try openning it with the words saying something like: "contains no recources"

then it hit me, "oh crap"

i had to browse the bazzaar, delete some waypoints to make room for the vendor's, travel to lok, ride to the store, and buy the thing

not hard you say? what about when it takes your computer 15 minuttes to load SWG and 5 minutes to travel between planets?

not like 20k is a huge loss, but i sure would've liked to know before-hand that cargo holds can only hold recources

i mean, the devs did mention all ships having cargo holds in numerous interviews before JTL launched [nicknamed loot boxes], but the only one i've ever seen is a box in my friend's YT-1300

It CAN be quite exciting and a reason to get your guild/friends together.

Sit on a nice asteroid in Kessel and let your teammates fend off the pirates as they spawn.
Lots of fun actually and GREAT xp!

If a poisonous snake is dropped on top of you from a gyrocopter, don’t freak out and shoot your own driver with your arrow gun, making the vehicle lose control and blow up. Its probably just as scared as you are.

FYI since you already have a cargo hold ... why not buy a mining laser and tractor beam to go asteroid mining. You dont need ROTW to do that ... and though not terribly exciting it is a change of pace

Should be under 'ship components' I would think, though I couldn't tell you for sure. I got a second large cargo hold (another ship I can mine with without having to trade components, glee) and a level III mining laser by sheer dumb luck by checking a vendor while I was hunting for new weapons. Sure made going thru the mining ship quest missions (the ones where you have to mine) a lot easier, doing 'em with the level III.

It appears that this does not work. I bought a mining laser to test it out and you cannot do any damage to the asteroid if you don't have the "expansion".
