Thread: JTL Leveling Question...

Well, I had 200k and trained and didn't need to earn the 200k again. The bars stayed green and I simply completed missions to earn each consecutive box.

Then I earn 1 million points for my first Level 4 box. Talk to the trainer in the hotel on Lok (I'm rebel) and he trains me a box (I take Equipment D, although I'm beginning to wish I'd taken Hyper-Maneuvarable Starships). My xp is gone. But no matter, he gives me a mission and I think I'm going to earn each box with missions.

Unfortunately, after the first mission completion, I go back to my trainer and he's only offering duty missions -- I believe so I can earn yet another million for training. Ugh.

Why did I only have to earn 200k once, but it looks like I may have to earn 1 million several times over (and we're not even talking about Alliance Ace)?

If someone could fill me in on how the whole leveling bit works in JTL, I'd appreciate it. Only hadJTL since ROTW was released and just as I thought I had a handle on it, this happens. Pretty disappointing since I have a Heavy X-Wing and ARC ready and waiting.

Tier 3 is all mission led, no XP involved (Thank the maker!)

Tier 4 needs 1 million xp grinding and a mission for each box.

Also thank your lucky stars you have that advanced X-wing, the conversation with Emya is bugged for a lot of pilots.

Thanks for the response, Dark.

So to be clear, each Tier 4 box requires 1 million xp each, plus a mission? Got a friend who is sneaking up on his first Tier 4 box, and how this works will effect his decision on what to take (and would have affected mine -- wish I'd thought to ask).

I would have to say that Tier 4 is the worst of it. The master missions are tough, but just the sheer grind required to get one box, let alone 4, and the fact that each box requires that you complete a mission to be able to train. Now these missions are anywhere from 30-50min long, each! Prepare for a crap load of escorting through massive amount of enemy Tier4-5 ships and Tier4-5 Gunships. Its a pain.

I dont know how, but I was able to solo the entire Smuggler's Alliance tree with a Dunelizard, and I even then I lost soo much equipment I couldnt even count it all. But trust me, once Tier 4 is over, things are alot easier.

That, and the fact that the XP has been lowered since I mastered in Nov, are the 2 reasons I doubt I will ever master another Pilot tree.

Ironically, I found tier 2 the worst (I am a Rebel pilot). At this point, my equipment was absolute rubbish (I'm talking <55 YPR engines, and blaster cannons that couldn't scratch the paint off a Gharg mercenary), and I was flying a bomber (mass management to use the Z95 seemed alien to me). So the grind seemed a hell of a lot longer.

Of course nowadays you can just hop in a gunner turret for someone else and fly up the first two tiers. How times have changed
