Thread: 3 ship limit, but the yacht counts towards the limit?

I was like, woot Yacht. Mostly eyecandy and can be used to store things... the only gripe is...
It takes 1 lot to even use it. But I also heard from a guildmate that it also counts against your total ship count.
Now, I'm curious as to why if that's true, then why should it also take up a lot?

I thought the ship count was 2, and the Yacht counted against it. Has this now been changed to 3? If so, very cool. If not, boooooo. And, since we have to use a lot for the Yacht, why not disreguard it, when counting total number of ships? We're already getting penalized, why do it twice? Just count it as a house, and let us unpack another ship.

I believe they are letting players re-deed the yacht with no penalty so you can use and store it anytime you like

The limit has been at 3 for over a month. When I got into beta in late September we could already have 3 ships. Currently I have 3: my scyk, my dunelizard, and the party barge.

You can redeed any ship at any time (as long as you unload all the components), except the starter ship. The yacht deed never disappears from your inventory (I moved mine to the bank), so you don't really redeed it. You clear out the stuff you have stored in there and you delete it from your datapad if you want another slot.

Yeah but you know the irritating task of doing that? The yacht is a veteran reward right? So, why should it count against the 3 total ships? Oh well... hopefully with the new money they make, they could increase the ship limit or exclude the yacht from the 3 ship count since it takes a lot.... and a veteran ship..

B/c the devs like to punish with something that was supposedlya reward, not only is taking a slot bad, but it takes a slot after taking a lot to even have the thing, so the reward ends up being a double detriment as it stands. I can live with the 1 lot cost, but I really don't think something that is meant as a reward should count toward your 3 ship limit.

What I proposed in beta was to allow users to own ONE of each certified Spacecraft. Like we do with speeders.
I guess they didn't have enough disk space allocated to each character or something. Or where tightwads.. one of the 2!!

If I remember right the limit was 2 ships and was hightened to 3 because of the SoroSub! So think of the limit as 2 ships plus a slot for the reward

How can you people be complaining about the 1 lot. The yacht holds 100 ITEMS!!! OMG, same as a small house, get over it. And instead of complaning about it, radial on the yacht and choose destroy. Then there isn't anything to complain about.

Well considering that all my Lots are either used for storage housesor harvesters for my business, they should have some sort of trade in program so that I can get some use out of my Veteran Reward. They should have made the Yacht just a 1 ship slot deal, I could live with that, but I cant afford to give one of my ground Lots for a Space asset. Hope they make a change to make the Veteran reward a reward, instead of another punishment.
