Well being as I don't have the reflexes of the younger generation and am not a very good player in FPS's. I finally managed to get the first tier done. Death is pretty commonplace in JTL for me. Missions are very hard. Especially when you move up a notch to the next level of missions.

I am playing a neutral and have found the Scyk fighter to be better than the Dunelizard because of the manuverability even though I can load a lot more on the Dunelizard. I don't see much difference either between the one blaster on the Scyk or the two blasters on the Dunelizard. Seems to take the same amount of time to kill an opposing fighter.

There are several things I wish the devs would address. They need to add an option when your engine dies to get a tow in for repairs. It is really dumb to have to eject from a perfectly good fighter just because you have a dead engine. I personally have created a new option for myself, it is called the reset key on the computer, and using a engine repair kit on the ground gets me right back into space.

If any dev is listening the repair kit idea, while nice, is a real pain in the game. Most of the vendors don't stock them and when you do find the one that stocks them, more often than not they don't have the specific kit you need. The last thing I want to do in my limited playtime is galavant all over creation trying to find the repair kit.

Shipwright Vendors, the aravice of some of them is appalling. It is incredible the gaul some of them have actually advertising at spaceports costs that are 10 times the norm. On a really broken ship, spaceport repairs will generally be around 4k for everything, I have not found one repair kit for less than 5k.

Missions, well I just started on tier two missions. I can never complete them for some reason. I fully consider most of them broken. Take for example my last two. Escort a queen's transport, I killed 14 fighters and I get a message back from the transport saying I did a terrible job and the mission was canceled??? Huh? Then I took a transport recovery mission. Recover the transport, I disable the two fighters guarding it, get the message that recovery is almost done and 12 fighter kills later I get the message that the mission has been aborted due to my failure? Huh? The devs need to do serious work on the mission make up. If anything is fubared in JTL it is the current mission design.

So far all I think JTL is, is a huge money sink. Deriving cash from missions you rarely complete is neigh impossible and constantly fixing a broken ship drains the cash fast.

I think JTL can be a really nice addition to the game, but it has a way to go before it can become that. I'll be spending time on the ground for awhile making up for all the cash I have spent.

By the way, for those shipwrights that do charge a reasonable amount for the merchandise a big thumbs up. I am considering buying an advertising droid to stand in Cornellia and announce all the rip off artists calling themselves shipwrights on Starsider.

A further addendum. I always forget something.

Droids, is there any use for these? I thought you were going to give the droid engineers a new livelihood with JTL? From what I have seen, overchanging the reactor is hardly worth buying a droid for.

Now if you gave the droid repair capability that is another thing. A repair droid in space would be worth it's weight in gold. Can't imagine why something like a repair droid was not included. It is about the only function I could think that would be beneficial to have a droid for.

As it currently stands I only train the last column in pilot because I can't do the next tier without it.

ummmmm......... i think u need to learn the game better...... for one the dunelizard is way better then the scyk, ur right u can load a lot more which is excellent cuz u can hold a way better engine on the dunelizard which = way faster ship. also u need to learn that when turning you need to find out what your ship turns faster too by lowering speed while turning (makes the ship much more meunvorable)

by that first paragraph alone that would help you survive enough fights to get much more money then needed to repair your ship if your to get destroyed.

2 guns is better than one depending on what guns you use, try getting 1 gun with high armor pierce and one with high armor pierce, i forgot the names of the gun but its their..... if u hit your target every time u can bring them down in 4 shots usually. of course its dependent on how much dmg the gun does also.

ESCORT MISSIONS : these are not broken, no matter how many ships you kill, you MUST stay near the transport or if u get too far the mission fails because thats how its set, u get too far u fail, so stay near it and kill ships as they get close to you.

ive always found spaceport repairs better than buying them from shipwrights

Last time i checked, when you log out in space, u log back in space..... this is what rebel pilot is for, they CAN call for repairs.

Advice is, every time u go up a new Tier, ALWAYS get component use first and beef up your ship or your pretty much dead.

First, the droid ability to overcharge a reactor is very usefull.

but for rebels and imperials its even more usefull, a rebel can make his shields much stronger and a imperial can make his gun dmg stronger, but need a droid in able to do it.

repair capability would be nice but that would interfer with rebel skills in calling for repairs.

Dunelizard is almost as manuverable as Scyk. Of course, you must learn how to manage throttle to find the "best turning point". Too low or too much throttle will result in slow turns. The ability to place 2 weapons is great, supposing you have 2 good weapons, a good capacitor, and a good reactor to power ir all, you will make much more damage.

About the repair, I agree it should be a droid ability.

About the vendor's stock, keep in mind the game hasn't been live for even a week. Repair kits can be produced in factories, so there will be much more stock soon.

Player shipwrights are putting too hight prices. My suggestion is to use looted components or buy them in the bazaar, you'll get better components than Sw's make, for 10 times less money.

About missions, I don't find them too hard. They're harder than they used to be in beta, but they feel right this way. So far I'm Freelance 2211 and didn't die a single time (however, I'm already experienced from beta). If you keep dying, you might want to check your components (maybe using bad shields, armor, weapons?) and group with other players. The scort missions require you to be close to the ship. You'll get a message from it if you are too far, saying "Come closer". Also keep in mind the "Duty" missions never end. They're just for getting XP, and you end them when you feel you've had enough.

Droids are very useful, specially when using the higher level commands. Also remember you can trade droid programs, and you can load a rebel/imperial program in your ship, and use it as you use your own.

Seems to me you need to practice a bit before taking on any more missions. Escort missions mean that you protect the freindlyl craft you are escorting. One suggestion, get a wing mate! Yes, you can do missions with more then one person. My son and I breeze through missions this way. One more tip, now your equipment. Apparently you have taken much time to get to know what you have or how it works. Things like reactors, engines, capicators and weapons are in such a variety and quality in JTL you need to look before you just slap them in your ship.

Have a nice day!
