I'm using a Saitek X45 digital joystick with throttle and living it!

I've not tried with keyboard and mouse as I love using a stick for flightsims - some people said it was better in beta, but like I say, never tried it.
I'm using the Microsoft SideWinder ForceFeedback 2 - I love it, has all the controls I need on the one stick and is sturdy and responsive. Sadly they don't make them anymore so it might be tough to find one... I am not looking forward to the day it finally breaks though - I hate those saitek sticks, they feel so flimsy...

I bought a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro just for use with JTL, and it works great. It has a heavy base so it doesn't slide around and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg about $32.

I use and love my Logitech EXTREME 3D PRO. It's got a tight handle, and is deadly accurate. It's not too high on cost either. It costs 30 to 40 bucks.

I like my Logitech Wingman Rumblepad. Its not technically a joystick but a gamepad, but the dual analog setup work great for flying. It also has a throttle on top, two shoulder buttons (good for weapons so your thumbs are free to manuever) and of course force feedback. Nine nice buttons for various targetting features. I got mine a year and a half ago for about 25$.
