Thread: Exploiting AI

Ok we all know about the top/bottom invunerability bug, thats been around since beta. MY question is why is it still around. My other question is why are the AI exploiting this bug. They fly around in a circle so the only angle I can hit is invunerable. While this is happening, the other ships are 10m from my rear, hitting me just about every shot. Anyone else noticing this? Its making the game increasingly frustrating.

Another big problem is my speed being reset to zero during flight, allowing the AI to gain some distance. These bugs have been around since beta, are they even being looked at? I am not trying to complain, but I thought these things would be fixed before release, and it is making the pilot grind next to impossible.

Heh, yeah, and that's after they swore to high heaven the last week of beta that they'd fix that bug, lol, that's SWG devs for ya.

I also warp backwards.... about 100m at least every minute. Very nice when you're trying to dogfight.

I took me a minute too realize that my weapons were'nt that crappy and that a bug is occuring. It so annoying. I noticed this top/bottom bug in beta also, but I prayed that it would go away. Nope it didnt. It is quite annoying that the AI actually takes advantage of the invulnerability.

I was wondering what was going on. I could not figure out how I was completely missing them when they were flying like that. This is absurd they left a bug like this in. Come on devs, game is hard enough without you making it impossible to play.

Same thing happens to me..only for the life of me..even if disabled I cannot damage these ships. Tried lots of angles, speeds, hitting different parts. Nothing.

I counter this with just a simple aim adjustment. Instead of aiming for the middle of the target recticle (spelling??) Aim in the direction the ship is circling (to the left if circling counter-clockwise, right if clockwise), making your crosshairs toward the = on your targets recticle, then just adjust from there as needed. See the crappy...thing below.

I haven't encountered this bug. Could it be that you are actually just missing? I've hit stuff from all angles w/ no problem. Maybe you're not as good as you think

Yes, this bug is still prominent, and very annoying.

Tip, though, unless you're flying at a 90 degree angle of the op of the ship, if you can see it's engines, don't lead the target as much. If you're good enough you can graze the enemy with your blasters just enough that it hits it's ass, and not the classified "top" of them. I learned to do this early.

It's just adapting to the disadvantages thrown at you.

The devs explained towrds the end of beta that this was proving to be an incredibly difficult bug to fix. Im sure they are working on it but it takes time... not everything is a simple fix of a couple lines of code.As a matter of fact, most people who werent in beta that I play with havent even noticed it, and I only see it here and there. Its not really THAT big of deal right now.
