Just a quick question about prestige.

Is prestige going to be used for anything except Deep space access. I am an Imperial Ace and have over 5mil of prestige saved up. Are we going to be able to trade this in at the village or use if for faction items. I dont care about the exchange rate for either village or faction use. Again just curious.

Thanks for any usefull replies.

I agree...I wouldn't mind being able to spend some of my millions of Prestige on something OTHER than PvP. It is after all...Prestige. Maybe turn in "Prestige" for a promotion in space...and give some new faction clothing...such as the WHITE officers uniforms...or perhaps even the crimson guard outfits...just a thought.

How do you view how much prestige you've earned?

If they let us convert or spend prestige on the ground I think it would be a perfect way to get more people flying.

I don't want to be too cynical here, but if that happens I wouldn't be surprised to see every lower tier spawn point camped by /epulse3 macroing afk Jedi in Krayts.

We don't want people in space to grind out more xp - we want people in space to fly and engage in an interesting and exciting space sim.

I like the idea of having decorations, clothing, etc available for people to spend prestige points on, however I really like the idea of missions that cost prestige points. When you think about it, prestige points are exactly what the name implies - points that show how "prestigous" you are. Therefore, why not have NPCs check that when they offer you advanced missions? "Hey, I've heard that you're a fantastic pilot. I've got a mission for you. If you succeed, you'll be well rewarded - but if you fail your stars luster will fade quite a bit." You need, say, 1 million prestige points to do the mission but you don't spend them as you do to get into Deep Space. Rather, if you fail you lose those points and if you win you get a good component or something.

For the record, I don't think that you should just be able to hand over prestige points for components. That's not in keeping with what JTL is about - the ground game is based on time spent in-game, but JTL is based on skill. If you can just spend prestige points to get cool stuff without any risk of a mission then you'll just have the pilots who spend the most time in-game getting the best gear.

I don't really see that happening. If anything people will be flooding kessle and deep space to get the fat prestige. And while I'm sure there would be a fair ammount of camping and farming, keep in mind that some people just can't fly very well so I doubt you'd see the volume of farmers and campers as you do on the ground.

I agree 100%. However I'm all for whatever will get people flying. Like the ground game JTL is lacking in areas, amazing in areas, and just broken in other areas. But I think JTL is a diamond in the rough and if more people can get flying more people will see that even though there isn't much content right now, there is more than enough content to be made by the players.

Agree 100% again. Great ideas!!

I'd like to see Master level components that only SW's can craft and that can be combined with Master Mission reward parts to make the uber-gear. And if you take your idea about large gains and losses in Prestige, and make these components cost large ammounts of prestige to equip, then people will have to take the risky missions to get the cool gear. And if they botch the mission then they just lost 1mil prestige.
