You have a problem thatwhen you shoot at the green reticle you dont hit the ship.. but when you shoot at the ship you hit it and see shield flash but no demage?

Well the trick is tofind sort of a happy medium in between the two.. (green reticle, and the ship) there is a spot in there that will hit the ships and damage them. Try aiming right in front of the ships that ussualy works. Play around you'll get used to where to shoot to hit and do damage.

Another good trick that seems to get around the problem i found out is that when you target a ship use the brackets [ and ] to cycle through the ships components and selects its engines. For some reason when you have one of the components selected you have a higher chance of doing demage to the ship even when aiming right at it. Once you disable the ships engines just go to the next ship.... When all the ships are parked its pretty easy to just fly by each of the disabled ships and finish them off. Just make sure you slow down or you will fly into them... since they are just sitting there.
