Here's a couple ideas, and scripts:


***BATTLE SCRIPTS ************

***1. Week long "battles" in a rotating system, (or a rim system) - At the end of the week ships lost, etc is tallied and a winner declared. Winning side gets something, (another capital ship, starbase, control of a system etc)


Battle Scenarios:


- Defend a capital ship or 2 from a fleet of capital ships

- Defend a space platform from a attack/Attack a platform

- Interdict a system, (Imp Interdiction only)..Missions that award prestige for patrol, Rebels need to move materials/people thru system and get out of interdiction range

- Raid a space platform, (rebel raid only) with Imperial defending. Rebels have to get ships with people on them, then fight on the platform, and try to take it over.

- Big capital vs capital ship meeting engagement


Misc details


*** Within the battle scenarios, both sides get "something" if materials, or resources/ships are delivered, (gives a job to smugglers) and smugglers are awarded cash or prestige. Give smugglers a "large cargo hold" bonus or something so any joe pilot cant do it


*** Players "launch" with NPC wingman, bought with prestige


*** Players can lauch with "stock" fighters and lose nothing, OR use their OWN and risk perma-death to their personal ship.




******CONQUERABLE PLATFORMS/BASES******


2. Another Idea would be "player built" platforms or fixed "conquerable" platforms


- Battles/Assaults would only happen at intervals or certain times, (to encourage max participation without the "just before server reset raid)


- Defenders can reinforce platform with materials delivered by smugglers. During this phase, PC'sCAN NOTassault, but they can interdict craft trying to get to platform/capital ship


- Have a platform or a base in each system or 2. Once one side conquers all the bases, bases get reset at 50/50


- Side that has more platforms/bases get a space mining bonus or something IF they go overt. Player cannot reap the bonus if not declared, (players can decide if risk is worth reward)


******************Basically this script would go something like this:


- Theres a imperial platform in system X. A rebel capital fleet shows up in the system lets say on a monday. No one can kill or assault the platform yet, but smugglers can come in the system, (at the edge) and try to deliver resources to the platform, and the rebels can try to interdict the craft. The more resources that get to the platform, the harder the defenses will be.


From Friday to Sunday the platform is attackable, and conquerable. Rebel players launch from the capital ships, imperial players launch from the platform. Each side has a limited amount of missles/ships/eq, and unless they get some delivered, once they are all gone, thats it. *** if players use their OWN ships, their ships are PERMAdeath if destroyed. (risk is using your own pimped out ship vs taking a "stock" fighter but not loosing your own)


IF platform reactor gets blown, rebel ships can land, and an assault ensues. Players on the platform can respawn(with injuries) on the platform until the cloning facility is destroyed on the platform, otherwise Imps would have to ship people to the platform. Attacking side, (rebels in this case) would respawn in their capital ship and have to fly to the platform again.



IF imperials can hold the platform, they get a big bonus to mining asteroids in that system ONLY if they are OVERT, (spec force)

IF Rebels can take the platform, then vice versa. In a week ortwo roles can be reversed and imperials attack.
