how do you mine in space?



Dont you have sompthing better to do then reading other peoples signatures?

If you have ROTW there is an NPC in the tree house that you talk to to start a quest that gives you a mining laser, a cargo hold, a tractor beam and ultimately the Y-8 mining vessel. It explains everything along the way. I don't remeber the name, but I'm sure you can find it here. There is also a post called space mining for dummies or something like that, it is either here or on the pilot board, check it out =)


WhileI have not tested it, you might be able to just buy a cargo hold and mining laser from a SW, the tractor beam is optional. My SW has no pilot skills, and my main has already done the mining quest so I can't tell if they are useable without doing the quest/having ROTW.

Can anyone tell me how to mine in space? I have a mining laser and storage compartment but don't know how to do it. And when I did try I didint get anything

Have you every played asteroids on the atrai or arcade?


But what you do is go to an asteroid that has the blue brackets around then start firing on it until a chunk falls off then you shoot that chunck until gets into smaller pieces then you shoot them until they go into your cargohold & so far the fastest way I have been able to mine asteroids is with a jedi starfighter with 2 mark3 mining lasers in it as well as a large starfighter hold. Even with it like that it still takes like 40mins of playing asteroids in 3d to get a full hold of about 1550 asteroid ore


well it is like that only in 3D & takes for ever to get anything so you can try it yourself to see if you like it but as far as I care they should have not even put it in the game the way it is cause it SUCKS trying to mine asteroids VERY BORING!!!
