I guess you need to answer questions about where and when it happened. Just saying it took you that long to kill a TIE isn't enough info.

It's becoming more and more obvious that Ace Pilot in game terms dosen't mean Good Pilot :/

That wasn't my implication at all, and based on the guy's sig, im not sure you'd be justified making such a comment. My feeling is he's killed enough TIEs in his career that he's more than proficient at it, but if he was trying to do it in Kashyyyk during prime time, or Deep Space as it's been post RotW, then he's gonna run into problems like he mentioned. Since he wasn't specific about where, when and how, I'm not about to get off on calling him a bad pilot.

Every so often, a target becomes nigh unhittable. I've pumped huge amount of damage into some ships to no avail. In those instances, I usually go off and kill all his wingmates before I start the frustrating rhythm of figuring out the correct place/flight angle to get these pains in the exhaust vent.
Yeah, it happens.
Yeah, it happens.

This is actually a bug of sorts - something about scoring a technical hit vs. what you see on the screen. I've noticed this phenomenon a number of times. If I lead using the motion crosshair and hit them, the shields light up and they take damage. But I've also noticed that if I shoot where it LOOKS like the lasers should go, and they pass through the ship, the shields still light up but no damage because the bolts actually passed harmlesslyBEHIND the targetp. It's a lag issue I'm sure and something to do with what the client vs server sees happening. I'm guessing it was done to make the fight seem less laggy. Otherwise you'd probably have a hit delay (you'd hit the ship, and then its the shields would light up half a second later after the server confirmed it was a hit). That's my guess. Unfortunately it has resulted in these kind of problems.Figuring out how much lag there is and then compensating for itis just unfortunately something we all have to learn how to do in any game involving real-time fighting.

Sounds like you hit a really bad bit of lag. Infact its more like a bug, or issue with the netcode.
You can tell if your being affected by this bug or not by watching your target. Watch the nose of the mobs ship. If it changes direction OFTEN whenver you shoot at it, (flying around sort irratically like a bee) your being effected. Trust me, you can tell, its like, "damn i wish i could manuver like that". Not sure what it is exactly but its much like your network packets are out of sync with the server. So while the mob looks like its in one spot and you shoot at it, the server thinks its in another spot so you miss entirely.
Its a REALLY annoying bug.
