does 'anyone' not have problems with lag when the SD in DS starts to fire?

i get alittle bit of lag when they all fire but not much it just adds a little challenge to a non-challenging ship.........my problem with the SD in DS is that in the movies most of all in ANH u see one take down a corellian corvette, with ease..........now in the game master mission vette alone is harder than a sd...but thats besides the point the thing that makes me mad is i can solo a vette with my krayt with ease.........now im not saying it sucks im just saying u should at least need 2-3 people to take it on it shouldnt be soloable ...but anyways thats whats been on my mind as far as the sd ingame lol

The lag from when they're shooting isn't that bad, it's when 50 lasers hit my shields. That is bad lag.

There are some people who have high end systems and good connections who think that the majority of people who DO have trouble with this should shut up, upgrade, and not "whine" Simple truth is, yes most pilots have trouble when this baby begins to fire, and the fact that it only became this way when they changed the ISD during the CU is cause for concern. There's really no need for all the guns to fire on someone when they cannot hit them, and it needs to be fixed. People who had no trouble with the ISD before should not be forced to upgrade hardware now because of bad code.

LOL yeah, I have a cable modem connection P4 3.4ghz, 2gig Ram and a X700 PCIe ATI card and when all 99 guns start shooting its slide show time. I know there are better systems out there, but mine is not that bad.

a couple months ago i would drop to 3-5fps when the ISD opened up on anyone that got near it. i haven't changed anything on my computer (same hardware and not a single software change) but now i stay at 25-30fps, unless there was a fix somewhere and i missed the notes on it my issue fixed it's self. my DSL connection is as crappy as ever, maybe even worse now then it was before, so a bad connection wasn't the problem.

and darthfodders rig would smoke mine hands down. i'm running a xp2400 OC'ed to 2.2ghz, 1 gig of XMS 3200LL ram in dual channel and a ATI 9700Pro with possibly the worst DSL ISP in the united states. (i know my rig is a bit outdated but i haven't upgraded anything in over 2 years so give me a break lol)

Watch ROTJ 6. It only took 2 Awings and a suicide dive to take out the super star destroyer. The Bwings are given zero action footage. I guess that's why it's the same in JTL. That ship has some serious lag problems, especially when the NPC mobs attack. It caused a PvP engagement of mine to last over 15 minutes.

ive prolly got one of the worst 'rigs' on teh server, 2.7 ghz celeron... PCI (no.. not PCIx... PCI...)128 MB ATI 9200 SE... 1 gig RAM and dsl and an ISP that will rival gaarawars in crapiness.


when i hit that ISD's bridge, i probably drop down to around .33 FPS or so... basically i have to aim my mouse one way, hit the boosters, and hope that i live long enough to get out of range every time i attack it.


seems to work tho, ive killed it 3 times now (first time took me almost anhour, but the other two were about 10 minutes lol)....


but the lag... oooohh the lag.. and even if you are nowhere near teh ISD in deep space, you feel the lag everywhere if somebody is.

You can do something about that... well partially anyways...


Open your Option Panel (CTRL+O) and goto tab "Graphics" there uncheck the checkbox for "Enable Bloom" if it is checked. Next turn down the Nebula Density...


Those are the 2 major lag-makers in the graphics tab, but you can tinker a bit more with it until it fit´s your needs


Alsoa good practice is to make your "Field of View" as wide as possible. It makes the Ships smaller and harder to hit a little BUT It 1.) Improves your aim 2.) Gives you a MUCH MUCH Wider view around yourself, hence enabling you to spot dangers much more early.

Sorry, canon died when the first system messagecame out saying there was a Jedi in the galaxy. Under any normal, logical circumstances, a fighter would not take down a billion creditbehemoth like an ISD, so I'll just pop that bubble for ya.


And yes, something's wrong with the ISD. It fires extra lasers that don't even do damage from what I've seen. I'd rather have the Rebel Station fixed but, hah, yeah..

For some reason I don't lag when i'm going againt the ISD alone....
I only lag when there's a third party pilot watching....weird...

If someone else is there with you, you have the added burden of their shots/shield hits. Shield bursts on big object give me lots more trouble than the weapons fire.
