Thread: Can't Go to Deep Space Overt anymore :(

just found out today... i tried goin to deep space overt as a freelancer, and first found out that the normal space station in dathomir wont take me. so i go to the rebel one in dantooine... well, i dont have any rebel pilot prestige so i cant enter there either. no deep space FP for me 
shouldnt this be fixed? i mean, id really like to get FP for my time spent in deep space.

Want the rewards for being on a side without picking a side? Tough.

We do pick a side when we enter DS, i get to choose rebel only. Han was a freelancer and he was definitely overt.

you can farm in kessel still...Just go to the corresponding faction DS station and have fun..
When declared overt, why don't free lancers gain Rebel Pilot Prestige?...heh

I would be highly surprised if freelancers being unable to enter Deep Space while overt was intended by the devs. Most likely they just didn't think about how the different sorts of prestige would work out when one type of pilot switches stations depending on his covert/overt status. I think people have gone overboard trying to rationalize why things are currently the way they are. I think the best explination, just like most other goofy things in the game, is that the devs justdidn't think it all the way through.

so freelance ace pilots cant farm faction then...
oh well, looks like im going imp ace on my alt. back to the grind. and i thought freelance ace was boring lol

No,freelancers support a side,they aren't a member of that side's navy. In space the definitions are different, and therefore the payoffs are different. Han got paid in credits and a spiffy medal, both of which Freelancers can get.

Rebel and Imperial pilots are military pilots. They belong to the Alliance Navy, and the Imperial Navy. The Freelance pilot, is a civlian profession, not a military one.
The FP farming for military pilots only currently, ill wager is one of the primary encouragements to pick a factional navy pilot. I'll also wager, that if this was not the case, you'd hardly ever see any imperial pilots, with rebel pilot taking a population hit too. A good number of people would go freelance for either the easier time farming in normal space, or for the I win button called EP3.

I can enter DS and pvp, just cant go in overt. I can farm fps in any other sector of space overt all i want, really why we cannot go overt in DS is pretty dumb but whatever, i can still getmy pvp kicks there all i like.

well.. thats kinda my problem though. i felt that by declaring my rebel faction with a rebel station, i should be picking that side. in kessel, im not allowed to kill rebs and imps anymore, just imps. they both used to be yellow to me, but now rebs are white and imps are red. i figure thats pretty well aligned with rebel, especially considering i openly declare that i am a rebel to the station...
i didnt think it was too much to ask
but yeah, if i really want FP badly ill just go to kessel... its not like i find anyone to play with in deep space anyways -_-
